I have no intention of taking any notice in future. Although hopefully I will be having a home birth so it won't be a problem. I'm working on the basis that my house = my rules.
Quite right, me too.Rockinbikergal wrote: »Welcome to the Newbies on the thread
OK this placenta delivery thing is freaking me out now and so is the perenial massage and I was in no way freaked out by the delivery at all lol.....how on earth do you ask a pervy hubby to massage that wee bit of skin for you, I don't think will be able to do it myself but will have a try if it helps lol :eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek::eek:
pervy hubby should be a bonus in this situation!!!Can ask why there are so many of you having a GTT test (sorry one of those T's prob mean test)? And what is it for exactly?
I see it as punishment for my BMI!!! Its all been explained really well, but unless you have a history of diabetes or a raised BMI, don't worry.
I have never had G.D. so far, so thought about telling them to sugar off, but couldn't be bothered in the end:rotfl:
Princess that's a nice bag too.
alfalfa welcome and congrats:j
lilac Go steady babe, fingers crossed. They don't mess about in Scotland do they??Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x0 -
Oh I won't over do it... just waiting on the MW now. Stupid pre eclampsia means daily BP checks. Hey service with a smile they visit me at home:)
With the placenta I have always had the injection and cord traction and exterior massage to get it out ASAP, I heamorrage badly and need a coagulant but they can't give me it until placenta gone so I don't retain placenta. I don't mind it TBH. weird thing is because then know i will bleed I don't get the baby, it is put on my tummy while cord is cut then its straight to hubby for skin to skin while they work on meand i look on. DD1 i got to cuddle until they spotted heamorrage and then not again for about 15 hours, DD2 not at all until she was about 2 hours old. I could look, touch but not hold..MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -

Nope no messing about up here. Offer submitted/accepted 19th October and tomorrow is move day. TBH funds were all in place 3 weeks ago so it could of been sooner.MF aim 10th December 2020 :j:eek:MFW 2012 no86 OP 0/20000 -
Thanks for the explanation re GTT. I thought it was for diabetes but I wondered if everyone gets it. My BMI was borderline. I think as I'd had 2. Straight forward pregnancies and births before, I would ok with midwife led care. Both my babies were 8lb 3 and 4, so just a nice size.
I also went for the injection and tummy massage while letting baby latch on. Placenta was delivered within minutes really. I didn't notice the jag as they gave it in my thigh as baby was born. I just wanted to get cleaned up and into clean jammies for cuddles as soon as possible.:santa2::xmastree::santa2:0 -
TBH I dont really remember the placenta coming out, was consultant led last time and vaguely remember someone poking me with a needle but was a bit distracted by the doctor doing my canular wrong as OH was telling her off about it lol. All I seem to remember is them telling me to cough and then it was out, job done!!Sealed Pot Challenge Member 151

I like the pasta idea...I'll try and have some pasta when I start contracting thenLove pasta. And carbs are meant to be good for energy.

Dear Santa
All I want for Christmas is to receive my nice 'glow' that is taking its time to reach me. If you can take this ongoing sickness and diawoowoo too that would be much appreciated.
I have been a very good girl this year (sort of) but good enough to receive a glow that even ready brek claims it can give.
I leave you a cookie and glass of milk in anticipation. I may eat these before your arrival but in my condition that can't be helped. I am sure you will appreciate the sentiment that it's the thought that counts.
Cheers
Charlie!

The 'mask'?! I can't imagine that without seeing the film in my head! You must've looked like the devil spawn or summat!:rotfl::rotfl:
I'm currently in the 'look like carp, feel like carp' semester that I feel will last the whole pregnancy. It's very nice to have an appetite back but every time I eat something I feel like i'm being watched. Like i'm some sort of fat cow or something. Which makes me not want to eat. Yet I know it's just me being sensitive but I think i'm going to have to deal with it.
Bring on Christmas Day when I can have a glass of wine with my dinner!Beautiful Baby Boy born 28 April 20110 -
I remember my placenta coming out
They were pulling at it and the cord was ripping so they got me to sit on the toilet and try to wee, and then 'Flob' it fell out _pale_0
