Any progress catw0man? Sorry - you've probably been asked that enough times already.

No progress yet:( However as hubby is getting some work driving snow at the moment, I am glad in a way! We need all the money we can get just now, as we don't know when he might get back to work, it won't be this year though I am sure - they have 2 weeks off over Christmas/New Year. I am getting a bit fed up now though as bump is huge and awkward!
  • Hee hee, if it was like that I certainly didnt notice!! Apparently its something to do with looking like you have a tan, the skin on your face is darker..............something like that anyway, cant say I noticed to be honest.

Its my works Xmas do tonight, am considering a glass of wine but that coupled with the brandy sauce on my Christmas Pud and I'll be sloshed lol

Ladies, bra extenders - where's best to get them from?
  • I had the injection and controlled traction for the placenta both times. Second time, injection was a little early I think, and so placenta hard to deliver. B/f stimulated contractions and got it out, though.
Please do not confuse me with other gratefulsforhelp. x

  • Both times I had the injection in order to help the placenta come out but have no memory of it other than after DD's home birth they went off to check it in my kitchen sink and i remember OH and my mum being so fascinated they went off to look at it leaving me and DD on our own. I'm now wondering why I can't remember it coming out as the placenta is huge!
can't get into work today due to weather - relieved to be at home. just watched a feature on this morning about how xmas trees are a stylish addition to your living room - my xmas tree is covered in decorations the kids made :rotfl:made me wonder whether there are people who really worry about what their xmas tree says about their sense of style!
good luck to any mum's to be who are due over the next couple of days xxx

Just back from the Midwives/Doctors. My MW is lovely and is happy for me to have a homebirth.

The doctor was also lovely but I have came away without answers. I went because of the pain/tingling/numbness in my hands. She had a feel and referred me to orthopaedics which will take 3 months for an appointment!
No suggestions except it might be a trapped nerve and take paracetemol.
I told her it was worse at night, and I wake up with a burning sensation in my hand. But no offer of a brace or anything.

I can't go on for 3 months. It's so bad I can hardly type this, write and even struggled to put a bobble in DD's hair :(.

I've tried to keep my arm straight but it's impossible with stuff to do.

    Hey peeps

Hope all of you and bumps are well! No time to catch up properly but should b back to normal after tomorrows exam, please cross your fingers for me!

Hugely stressed about it all, not sure it's an ideal time to take it with baby brain and all!

Oh was really sweet last night, his friend is a bit rubbish with relationships and he was just saying how great our relationship is and how happy he is. Bless :)

Looked up perineal massage, yikes!!! Actually it was OH who brought it up as his mates at work were talking to him about it, guess it's worth a try. Think it will be quite entertaining tho ;)

Hugs & bump pats to everyone, labour vibes / holding off vibes to those who need them! Xx

Glad your MW is good :). Sounds like Carpal Tunnel in your hands though - I'm surprised your doc suggested taking paracetamol - that won't help it. I've got it really bad and have no feeling in my fingers anymore - I did have it before pg, and have previously had it operated on (it was not a success). It should improve after birth, it is due to inflammation in the carpal tunnel which is where the nerves in your arm travel through into your hand, serving your thumb, index finger and middles finger and one side of your ring finger. I'm surprised it will take that long to see anyone about it. I got a referral immediately as I had it before and have to wear splints - I can also phone and get an appointment with physio when I need it! Try shaking your hands as that can sometimes give relief, also my physio suggested icing the inside of my wrist to reduce the swelling.

I have never had G.D. so far, so thought about telling them to sugar off, but couldn't be bothered in the end:rotfl:
I will this time. Last time they told be I was borderline so had impaired glucose tolerance so should increase my sugar intake. (Well they actually told me to follow a "reduced" sugar diet but I refused as it was much higher sugar than my normal diet and they wouldn't give me any other advice.)
