Evening ladies, hope you are all well. I have been feeling very out of sorts today, not feeling sick but just not feeling quite right either. I am starting to feel very uncomfortable and can feel everything being pushed up which is quite worrying considering I still have 20 weeks to go!

RLT defintely taking it again this time round. I had a relatively fast and pretty easy labour and 2 pushes and DD was out (a bit shocked mind you!).

I am having the GTT at the end of January but have to go up to the hospital for it. Mine is the same procedure that grateful mentioned. I am a bit worried though because if I can't eat I am likely to throw the mixture up!! Will speak to consultant next week about it.

Finally after waiting 7 weeks, I got my new Blackberry today. What a carry on it has been!! The thing is I can't really be bothered to sit down with it and see what it can do!:o

Wonder if Ejecoms is getting Mummy cuddles yet?

Oh grateful that is really nice. TBH Radley really doesn't do anything for me but that is really smart. Will have a wee gander for you too, I want a new bag for my xmas this year too :D

  • Thanks, teenie it doesn't do much for me either, but not being a handbag kind of a girl it was just a label I had heard of. Worked with a woman who had 13 of them...just before she went bankrupt!

Love the bag, but I am a Radley girl!! Have a small collection so I'm maybe a bit biased!

For those of you who have been in labour before....what did you eat and drink?

We've been recommended lucozade (which I can't stand). Can I have apple juice? Websites say to avoid grapefruit and orange juice.

Food wise we've been suggested empty calories like boiled sweets/fruit pastilles/glucose tablets. Will I not want a bag of crisps/sandwich?! I just can't imagine not eating :o

I like the bag, but would never spend that amount on a bag. I'd spend it on a pair of boots, like Uggs or something, though. I'm not really a 'bag' girl, or a girlie girl for that matter :)

Our hospital doesn't let you eat but I didn't want to anyway - I threw up early on in Labour. (We also were only allowed water which they omitted to tell us beforehand.) I think the ides of those suggested things would be to help get energy into you farily quickly/easily even if you don't feel like eating which is important when you are in labour as you need energy.

I wasn't keeping much down either, but I took in cereal bars, little cartons of fruit juice, chocolate. This time I am going to take in a variety of different foods and if I'm feeling up to it may make some flapjacks to take it. Will take loads of food in for DH this time too, he was starving last time. If I were you I would just take in what you fancy, if you don't have it during labour, it will at least be there for you afterwards if you want it.

    Evening all!

Just wondered if you'd mind if I joined you all! Just found this thread and I'm enjoying reading through the stories.

I'm 24 weeks pregnant tomorrow and due on 31st March. This is my first baby and I keep flipping between being ridiculously excited and outrageously scared! I have no worries (yet) about giving birth, the way I look at it is that billions of women have done it before me so I'll be ok. If I just keep repeating this to myself I'm sure I'll end up convinced soon enough...

We didn't find out if we're having a boy or girl at our 20 week scan but I have a feeling i'm having a little boy. Mind you, in my first 16 weeks I was certain I was having a girl so I'll probably change my mind by the time he/she comes. I'm not bothered about what I have, the way I look at it is you get what you're given and as long as my baby has everything it's supposed to have in all the right places and is happy and healthy I'll be more than happy!

I'm worrying a teensy bit about how disorganised we are and how unprepared we seem to be- is this normal??? My partner is off for two weeks from Saturday and he's starting the decorating in the baby's room but we have yet to agree on a cot/furniture in there. I'm trying to convince him that the Fern collection in Mamas and Papas is really nice and a decent price but he's such a worrier and seems to think that as the price is fairly decent, £499 for cot, dresser and wardrobe, it means it's not great quality. Does anyone have any experience with Mamas and Papas furniture??? In fact, can anyone recommend decent nursery furniture that is tried and tested???

I've just realised that we're not THAT disorganised- we have ordered our pram so that's one job done! Only 1000's more to go!
