Haha - I hope so ;) I'm convinced it's all in the ability to relax as much as possible.

When is it you start getting stretch marks if you were to get them?

I got all mine in the last 2 weeks. I seemed to be the same size for weeks then in the last 2 weeks I popped. At least I didn't get any new ones with DS and they pretty much faded in-between.

has anyone started on this yet/got any experiences they can share?

I've just bought some for H&B and had my first cup..I really like the taste!

I'm 35+2, and have read that you can start drinking it at 32 weeks. Read quite a few positive things on the net, just wondered if anyone here had any wisdom to share? :D

I used it with my 3rd, and although my 1st 2 labours weren't too long, my 3rd literally flew out.
Labour was probably about 5 hours start to finish, but when i came to push i think it only took 2 pushes. She had a bloodshot eye as she had come out that quick. I only had the tablets, and started taking them at about 37 weeks, i assume it was them that made it quicker:think:

I'm absolutely with you on that. Control of pain is so much easier when you're relaxed.

Sammy Lovely bump pictures – I think I might take another one on Saturday when I turn 26 weeks :)

Congratulations on team blue Chicky great scan picture :D

Sending massive labour vibes to those in need :)

Well done at getting something sorted out for your boiler situation Catwoman that must be a weight off your mind :)

I had words with HR this morning about when I was likely to get some confirmation in writing as it’s been a month since I handed my forms and letter applying for maternity leave in. I’ve been told that it looks as if the Headteacher has ‘mislaid’ them so I’ve had to fill them all in again *doh* Luckily I had kept copies so it wasn’t too arduous a task. So I’ve just been given my letter confirming my maternity leaves start on 12th February but as I have five days holiday to take beforehand my last working day will be Friday 4th February – 8 weeks on Friday :D:D:D

Right, can someone tell me what to expect when i go for my gtt?
Had the midwife this morning for my 27 +2 appointment, she took bloods, gave me my hip grant form, measured tummy (currently at 25.5) and listened to heartbeat...then booked me in for gtt on friday morn. She said not to eat or drink anything and i overheard her on the phone to the gp's saying i would need 2 blood tests, but thats all i know. I'm not worried, but would like to know what to expect. Thanks in advance :-)

  • I've got one on tuesday.

You cannot eat or drink from midnight the night before, except for black coffee (not great if you're pg) and water.

You get the first blood taken (drink plenty wear warm clothes) then they give you a sugary drink in a measured amount, and you have to wait 2 hours. Mine make you wait at the surgery but not all of them do.

Then after two hours you have the second blood taken. Job done and you can eat!! I'm going to ask them to take extra blood to test my iron levels while I'm there 'cos I'm veggie. HTH

Oh, i didn't realise that you have to wait 2 hours, thats gonna kill me, I don't drink coffee and cant cope without a cuppa tea in the morning. But waiting 2 hours is going to coincide with work....better let them know i'm going to be late

    What GFH said :)

I have to go to the hospital for mine although it isn't for a few weeks. I have to be there at 8.30am, they told me nil by mouth (they didn't say whether I'm allowed to drink plain water but am assuming thats ok) from midnight the evening before. They said they will do a blood test then give me a sugary drink to ingest (some places give Lucozade others apparently give a nasty sugar/water combination) then I have to sit at the hospital for 2 1/2 hours when they will then take another blood test.

I have been told I must take a sandwich to eat once they have taken the second blood test otherwise they will not let me leave until they have seen me eat something.

Not looking forward to being sat in the hospital all morning I must admit - think I may need to buy a new book in preparation!

  • Fairy I have an evil plan to pretend I feel faint so they give me a bed to lie on...mwahahaha, then I can have a kip. But I'm in the doc's surgery where I know they have spare rooms with beds in.
