    Morning ladies, :T

Good to see you again RBG. I've missed you. Don't go out if you don't need to, it is chuffing freezing out there. OH scraped my car when he got home about 7.20 then when I was leaving at 7.45 it had refrozen and I had to do it again . Do your shopping online!

I am sooooo tired today. Decided to cook up a storm last night, made chunky meatball soup and chocolate and ginger flapjacks. the soup turned out lovely but you'd break a tooth on the flapjacks, I made double amounts and have messed up the quantities somewhere. Not happy. Didn't get to sit down til 8.30 last night but OMG - CORRIEGEDDON is fab, I don't normally watch it but I am hooked this week.

Hope you all have a lovely day. Very manic at work today so I prob won't be on again today (yeah right ;))

Baby dust speak has been very quiet these past few days and bump is smaller but 'he' likes to give me a good boot in the foof when I'm driving to let me know 'he's' still there.

    @sammy - nice bump pics

@chiggle - nice scan pic :) congrats on a boy, sorry you didn't get the girl you wanted.

Thanks everyone for flipflop ideas. I'll get hubby to check tesco out as he works there. Otherwise ebay is a good idea.

We went to the waterbirthing class last night and it was really really good. There was so much I didn't know. Before you say anything everything I was told was specific for my hospital so might be different to what yours says.

I was surprised to find out I can have a waterbirth (if it's not being used) as long as I go into labour between 37 and 42 weeks and I can even have one if I'm induced if the reason for being induced is just because baby is late. So that's made me a bit happier about the prospect of being induced. But if you're on the drip type inducement you can't have a waterbirth.

At our hospital they let you in the water at 3 - 4cm dilated.

Anyone had any thought about how to deliver the placenta yet? I'm considering if I'm lucky enough to have the pool birth to have a natural placenta delivery. Apparently you stay in the pool with baby and they leave the cord attached until the plancenta comes out. I think if I give birth on dry land I will have the injection. I need to look into pros and cons of both a bit more.

The waterbirth evening was also useful because she made a point of telling us we DO need to bring towels, or you'll end up with the tiny hospital one that doesn't wrap around fully. Whereas the other class (focussed on dry land) says you don't need towels. There were some other things too that came up that were different to the 'normal' class but can't remember them now.

I really really hope that if I am able to have a pool birth then it's free. I will be so gutted if it's not. She did stress a lot that we need to think of using the pool as an 'option' not our actual plan to avoid disappointment. She's told us to go away and think about other ways we'd like to labour for if the pool isn't free. She did say we can labour in the bath (again - if they are free).

  • Morning bumpy ladies :)

Have a list of things to do today, although MSE isn't on it! I WILL get at least half of it done...honest.

Emsy - if you're lurking..... I don't want to post on your thread for fear of you getting even more hassle. I just want to say :j:beer::T:D

Love the pics Sammy. I wish I'd done something like that, but to be honest I've just felt rough for most of the time so it's not been something that's been foremost in my thoughts!

Giz - I'm avoiding injections wherever possible, so my placenta will be as naturally delivered as possible.

DH was all ready to take me to the hospital at the weekend. We were on our way home when I got terrible pains in my stomach. Like being stabbed or something. Every little pothole, corner, roundabout etc was agony. When I could speak again I assured him that I was ok (which I hoped was true). I think it was a combination of BH, trapped wind and sproglet deciding to move to somewhere really uncomfortable. Hot bath and a hot water bottle made everything better and I've had no problems since.

9 weeks to go, and still no boy's names. Eeep.

Right, off to tackle the monster list of things to do.....
If having different experiences, thoughts and ideas to you, or having an opinion that you don't understand, makes me a troll, then I am proud to be a 100% crying, talking, sleeping, walking, living Troll. :hello:
  • Morning all!

Brr, another cold one, -13 when DH went to work this morning.

Catw0man - Ohh, how exciting, hope it all happens soon for you. You too Ejecoms.

DM11 - Glad the doc gave you something for the pain and I hope DD is okay.

Chickywiggle - What a lovely scan pic. Hope you're okay too, have a hug x.

Sammy - Loving the bump timeline. I still haven't taken any pics, too scared to see how big my bum looks I think! (Unfortunately it's nothing to do with being pg either.) Your bedspread is lovely too.

GFH - :rotfl: to both your OH and the practical kids.

LP - Eek, hope you manage to take it easy and that you're BP behaves.

Dusty - Just reading that made me tired, and hungry. ;) I've been enjoying Corrie too.

We're going for a gender scan on the 21st and as far as I know, if they really can't get baby to show themselves they'll book another appointment FOC.

Ooh, I have an email to say my Matalan order has been dispatched, yay. Although I doubt that it'll come tomorrow like it's supposed to, not if it comes through a Glasgow or Edinburgh depot anyway.

Oh, and have any of the Scottish ladies noticed that there seems to be something in the water at BBC Scotland? All 3 of the weather women are pregnant, strange lol.

I haven't noticed the Weather girls but I think there must be something in the water at my work:rotfl: One girl had a little boy in September, anothers daughter had her little boy about 4 weeks ago, I'm due any time and just before I left there were another 3 told me they were in early pregnancy:eek::eek: There are only 23 employees in the lab and 4 of them are men!!!

Where abouts in Scotland are you Garnet? That's very low temp, I know it was -12 here the other night when brother in law was working.

Placental delivery - I thought I would go for the injection but after talking to my midwife I'm going to try for natural providing I'm not bleeding to heavily.

I'm in Forth Valley. We left the heating on low last night it was that cold. DH phoned at the back of 9 because the key holder hadn't made it in to open the shop yet, so he was in Poundland buying my tinsel :D. DHL didn't manage any deliveries to them either yesterday.

Seems to happen like that sometimes doesn't it? Across the street from where I used to work, there were 3 women from 3 shops next door to each other, all pregnant at much the same time.

    Hi everyone,
Not been on for a week or two, just trying to sort house out and doing Xmas shopping. I've quickly read most of what I missed.
Congrats to the births and hi to newbies xx
Glad all went well SA in your growth scan. I have another this pm. I work myself up for them but love the feeling after, just reassured that all is well. Good luck with yours Princess coupon, did you ask them about IUGR last appt?

I've started getting migraines again, had them in 1st trimester but then cleared up. Just started having them again over last week or so. I think its due to lack of sleep, my DS is up all hours in the night and up at crack of dawn too.

Just wondering if any of you ladies are doing perenial massage ? I'm thinking of starting now I'm 32 weeks (if I can reach!!) I'm just scared of an episiotomy.

    xx
