Ejecoms, all the best for a co-operating baby tomorrow.

MV, I saw those stickers too, but OH isn't keen on a jungle-themed room, in fact we can't seem to agree on anything unisex, so it might just get left a few years until the kid can settle the argument!

Typically, another tube strike day in London, and I had a meeting I had to be at today. Just about squeezed me & bump onto the overcrowded bus. Then when two seats became available near me a girl roughly pushed past, took one and plonked her bag on the one next. I'm afraid I wasn't very polite in asking her to move it.

And I'm all for the philosophy "you eat a bit of dirt before you die" and "what doesn't kill you, makes you stronger" so have no intention of turning my house into a germ-free bubble. Although I do find it strange that you don't have to wipe Lanisoh off your boobs before feeding, I'm sure that can't taste very nice for bubs.

Thanks lilian1977 - I didn't see peep show but I can understand why people would prefer a c section and I know there are much worse things than an elective c section. However, I'd really like the chance of a natural birth, partly for the experience, also I want to spend as little time in hospital as possible and don't want to have to wait 6 weeks before I can drive, especially as we live somewhere quite isolated.

You're supposed to apply it straight after one feed, and it should be a very thin slither of it... By the time the baby wants feeding again it should all be absorbed into the skin... If you apply it too thickly then it won't help the soreness at all...

Same as applying sudocreme onto sore bottoms... It should be a thin slither and should be rubbed in completely... If it's a thick layer of white then the skin underneath can't breathe and it's never going to heal...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...

Now I know why you are called Krystaltips! Thanks for the "creams" advice.

On another note, it seems lots of ladies getting towards the end get a bit concerned/confused about leaking and whether its discharge, pee or waters. It seems putting on a pad, checking the flow rate and having a good old sniff is the recommended way to go. Should I just get ordinary towels, or maternity ones for this purpose? Also, how do you protect your bed in case of waters going in the night?

This whole waters thing is now playing on my mind, I would be mortified if I had a sudden gush anywhere in public, I guess the only way to avoid this is hole up at home for the last few weeks.

I asked about bed protection ages ago and some people use maternity bed protectors, someone recommended getting the ones you can get for children as they are supposedly cheaper. But some people said they couldn't get on with the disposable protectors as they crinkle too much and they said they used towels. I'm sure someone said they used an old shower curtain under the sheets.

    Hope that helps :)

    Evening ladies and bumps :)

Well I'm jealous of those of you who have much snow. We have nothing. Nada, zilch. Wasn't even any ice on the windscreen this morning! Oh well, suppose I shouldn't complain - don't fancy slipping over

Those of you in and around London, is it me or is the traffic better when there's a tube strike?? For the last three strikes Ive had super quick journey times to/from work.

I finally ordered a maternity coat :j After umming and ahhing over the Dotty P's one - it had sold out in my size :rotfl: So I found one in New Look online that was reduced to £36 and free delivery :j And I might have also accidently ordered a couple from Asos - but I do like to try on and I will only keep one coat - promise :o:A

Does anyone have a bladder the size of a thimble at the mo? I seem to to go so much nowadays - but then not loads comes out. But I'm always desperate. So annoying - I hope it doesn't last.

Gosh, reading back - I'm sorry for the self indulgent post! I hope everyone is well and appropriate labour vibes to those in need xx

My waters went with DD1 when I was asleep but it must have disturbed me a bit because I got up and ran to the bathroom without soaking the place... Same happened with my sister and her 3rd baby too... I bought a mattress protector last time but the midwife broke my waters when I was in labour in the end... This time I think I'll just put some towels under the sheet just in case... (the plastic backing all came off the mattress protector in the end, turned out to be a waste of money...)

Sammy, I'm a real PITA for holding on as long as possible before I go... I'm finding I get a lot more uncomfortable than normal, and made my back ache the other night so really should go more often...

We have no snow yet either, and I really don't want any!! There is no way I'm trekking down the hill to DD1s school with the pushchair though 2 foot of snow... It kills me walking back up the hill to home as it is! (Plus I have my driving test next week )
