Getting undressed at night is different to needing help with buttons to get to the toilet on the DLA forms. If your son has no qualms about wearing different trousers then he should do so as it will make his life easier. As a trendy young woman I can't wear shoes with heels, converse all star are about as high as I can get. Sh is roughly the same age as me and wears velcro shoes - not exactly on trend. Lots of people can't wear high fashion for various reasons.
I used to live in heels, but over the past 2 or years that's changed and now I live in Crocs. Seriously I used to wear 4 inch heels everywhere - I'd walk a mile and a half to the village and then the same back - so Crocs aren't the same. I love my Crocs but I love heels more. I just can't cope with the arthritis pain.

I've never been allowed to wear heels, I tried to once but I think I tried to late and I couldn't walk in them.

I'm not sure if you still need info about what 'several' means but if you do:

The tests around attention requirements are different for each rate of the care componant, for example for middle rate care you need to show the need for attention is 'frequent' (more than twice) and 'throughout the day' (at regular intervals).

Full information about the different requirements, including definitions of the terms can be found here: http://www.disabilityalliance.org/f23.htm

I agree. I struggle to do up laces and because of this, wear slippers that have no laces and trainers and shoes with velcro. If I wear shoes with laces, I can do them up - but not properly, so end up doing my shoes up again every hour or so. The only issue I have with this, is the lack of (I've found this, anyway) ladies shoes with velcro.

I remember as a 16 year old, going on a walking trip and having to ask one of the teachers to do up my laces - that was rather embarrassing, in all honesty.:o

I'm finding that there are more and more ladies shoes available with Velcro.

My daughter cannot do her laces (she's almost 19).

I work in a shoe shop and had a customer a couple of months ago who only had one arm. He lost his other in a car accident 20 years previously and was an inspiration to me...just wish I could have taken him home to talk to my daughter :D

He could do his own laces..and do them tightly. I sat cross legged on the floor in front of him and told him he wasn't leaving my shoe shop until he could teach me....so I could teach my daughter...and he did :T:T

Shame my daughter gets frustrated at failing and want to hit me with the shoe...but i shall continue to try...:rotfl:

She has velcro trainers/buckle of velcro shoes and the only time she needs laces is when she's wearing her walking boots for her D of E award thingy that she's doing now.

The man I met even wallpapered one handed...:T (would have loved to have seen the end result :rotfl: )
Sometimes it's important to work for that pot of gold...But other times it's essential to take time off and to make sure that your most important decision in the day simply consists of choosing which color to slide down on the rainbow...

ooh - thanks! I've been looking for something like this, but could only find them in black or white. Have some purple boots so these will be ideal.

They're cheaper on Ebay with free p&p :)
