crazymom wrote:I rang Halifax customer relations yesterday and said about 2 lots of charges on my account and that it had taken me overdrawn and i wasnt happy about it, The lady on the other end of the phone said 'ok we will levy these charges and they will be put back into your account'.
Checked my account this morning and wooohoooo they are both there! Am now going to get my DHs 6 years worth of statements as im sure we will get a good sum back from them!
Good luck to everyone with their claims. Go for it, it is our money after all!
you where very lucky.
When I have rang in the past ( only december just gone ), I got stuck with all the nasty people on the phone. It was always a no. They where like robots.
Well done:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -

Yeeeeeeeee Harrrrrrrrrrr
Just spoke with the Halifax and we have agreed a figure of £2,200!!! Easy Peasey. Originally asked for £2,475.00 plus £494.89. They offered £1,183 (40%) I Refused and asked for 80% = £2,376 and a reply within 7 days. They did'nt reply so I called them this afternoon on 0191 235 7810 she made me an offer of £2,000 I told her £2,200 and we had a deal - She Agreed!!!!!!
£2,200 Yipeeeeeeeeee what shall i buy first????
Thanks Money Saving Expert - First saw this on LK Today and boy am I glad I did Martin you are a legend!!!!!!!!!!!!!!0 -
Hi all and well done to those who have successfully reclaimed money from the banks :T
I am seriously considering giving it a shot..seems like Halifax are the easiest to get it back from?
Anyway..whats the possibility of it going to court and if it does..do I have to physically go to court? And stand up and tell all my story ect...?? Im terrified of this!
I really would like to get my money back,it isn't likley to be huge amounts like some are claiming..prob a couple of hundred quid..is it worth me doing?
I remember that last year I went 1p over overdraft allowance and got charged 30quid!!!! Outrageous!!

Had a letter this morning from the halifax to confirm I rejected their offer yesterday of 1,223.00. And that it is their final offer. Have just called them to say I will accept the offer if they are willing to pay my court costs of 120 but they very nice man on the end of the phone said that as its now gone to court stage they will have to see the process through to the end.
I really hope I haven't just chucked 1,223.00 down the drain and come out of this process with nothing. I wish I’d have waited a bit longer until I started the court process instead of sticking to my strict 7 days after the 2nd letter was sent as they phoned to offer me the money the day after I’d started my claim. I’m really worried now0 -
Hi,
Has anyone got an email address for Halifax to ask for statements or do you have to send a letter by snail mail?
Thanks, Helen xlove my little man he is amazing :j0 -
I think you'd be better off using normal mail.0

Thanks, Helen x
better of with snail mail, if you request via the data protection act you can ask about manual intervention, which if it does go to court will help your case if they can't provide evidence of any to justify their charges0 -
you're even better off calling them and asking. they only charge £5 then aswell and they're with you pretty quickly0
