Further update; just had a telephone back and Halifax have stated that they are defending all Credit Card claims through the courts. So now I am really not sure what to do!
All help appreciated many thanks.

what is the best way to proceed with this - I am claiming £2624 + Interenst (3323.12) and I am getting lied from Halifax and messed around in ways that I cant believe. What is the most painful method of for the Halifax as I want to cause them as much problems as possible to get my money back? is it FOS or Moneyclaim?
Thanks0 -
Theyre quite quick, I sent my letter recorded on 5/7, heard back today 10/7. I have basically been charged £150 (£30*5) for going over my overdraft limit which was £0. These were transactions which were honoured but shouldnt have been as far as I can see. Buying a plane ticket took my balance to zero! I also been charged "interest" on that (yet to come to light) and £28 "monthly fee". I am trying to claim the full amount.
I received a letter today 10/7 - standard rejection letter but phoned immediately and asked my case to be re-evaluated. They said I would hear back mid-August. (This involved a lot of pausing and silence - were they making this up- did they even do anything?). Anyway, if I don't hear anything by the start of August, I will be writing again or can you suggest what number I can ring?
I'm now starting the process of transferring all my banking to Alliance and Leicester- do you think this will affect my case? When my direct debits are transferred and most of the balance is transferred? I intend to keep having my wages paid in for now and set up a regular payment to A&A of just a little less of that amount. Likewise my savings account will be closed.0 -

Hi There, wondering if anyone has had similar experience and how they dealt with it.
I am currently at the last step having taken the Halifax to court and with them having acknowledged (I think they are just buying more time). They deposited about 1/3 of my clamed amount into my account without my asking, this is after I had issued them with court proceedings. After calling there customer service department I was assured this was a good will gesture and would NOT affect the court proceedings!!! I checked this fact with them a few times and they assured me that it wont affect the case, as such I reduced my overdraft by that amount.

I am just a little concerned that they are going to try to use this payment in a defence they may put up saying that the matter has been accepted as closed by myself due to acceptance of the payment. In effect I believe they may lye to not pay out.
<O:p</O:p
I will not find out what the outcome is until at least the 24th of this month so if anyone has any experience of the Halifax and there odd practise of sticking unsolicited funds in your account please let me know.0 -

Hi again
It was the second letter that was sent. I gave them 14 days to respond. i phoned them last night and they said they had sent a letter stating that they were satisfied with the charges that had been placed on the account. As I told them, I'd be satisfied if I could charge someone £600 for doing **** all!!
What's the next step? Once again, any help PLEASE!!!

When you get your letter ask them for a re-evaluation of your file this will possuibly take a few weeks and just ring up and chase regularly like I did until you get an offer.
ps. I've had my letter confirming £5353 being refunded to myself followed by a letter for a charge (my first in months and months) I'll prob let it slide though.0 -

They are trying to fob you off mate! Tell them you are taking it to court and see how they feel then! Oh and notice below on my signature, if they are lawful why have I been paid out?
You need to do some reading up as to why the charges are unlawful but in a nut shell they are making a profit when they charge you the penalty, which is an unlawful practice!Got It & Spent It :dance:IKEA CARD = £120 charges = £175 received (146%)MARBLES = £450 charges = £370 received (82%)I.F. = £494 charges = £494 received (100%)CAPITAL ONE = £981 charges = £1,489.03 (152%)BARCLAYCARD = £580 charges = £786.12 (136%)On Hold :mad:A+L = £722 charges (target = 147%)BARCLAYS = £1,405 charges (target = 128%)BARCLAYS = £175 charges (target = 140%)ABBEY = £3,220 charges (target = 148%)0 -
Hi all, Im a bit unsure what my next step should be with Halifax. Basically I hand delivered my letter into the branch requesting my charges back & got the reply that the charges are fair blah blah & they are declining my complaint, how do you decline a complaint, I thought you either resolved it or you didnt??
Do I contact the FO at this stage or do I ring them & say I want them to re evaluate it, I wouldnt have thought I would ask them to do that as they havent made me an offer to re evaluate?
Any help from those who have dealt with Halfifax woud be greatly appreciated.
Cheers all
