halifax bank charges (merged)
Comments

Hi All,
I had a halifax account and closed it about 5 years ago. Does anyone know if I can claim on charges from a closed account? Also, does it matter that I have changed address since the account was closed?
Thanks.0 -

No, it doesn't matter, just provide them with the details from when you had the account.0 -

Yes, you must do what you've said and wait the 14 days.
If you rush it, there's a chance if it goes to court, it will be struck out because you have not given the other party reasonable time to respond.0 -

Thanks for the reply. Only reason I was wandering is because one of the post yesterday had a reply to say she received a letter and this was dated the same day as myself.:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -
Hi all
If I send out the second letter ( fingers crossed doesn't come to that ), will I have to resend all the bank statements that I sent with the 1st letter. I kept my copies but will the bank except these ??
Also will I have to send the letter again to my local branch ???:A Tomorrow's just another day - keep smiling0 -

it may just be that my branch are a bit quicker in sending out letters. You could always give them a ring to ask if they have received it.0 -
does anyone have the address for a branch in the uk for reclaiming the charges?
thank you0 -
Hi
I currently bank with Halifax and am considering claiming back charges. Has anyone had any success with Halifax - either by way of an offer or full amount??
Thanks very much.0 -

call them asking for your statements if you haven't already done this as you will only be charged £5 and its quicker than sending a request by post with a £10 cheque.
you should send your first letter asking for the amount to your local branch.
hope this helps0
