no not re evaluated - 1st letter standard letter 8 weeks to deal -2nd letter - a reply as i called up to comaplain this letter just said basically sit tight and u will hear from us shortly - 3rd letter just basically turn my claim down as they said it was in my terms and conditions when i took out the account that if i go overdrawn charges will be applied - they said at the end if im not happy contact the ombidsmun ?????? so were next ? ?
Curlyboy you should have a number on the top of that letter! Ring them and tell them that you want your claim re evaluated. It sounds like they have sent you the stardard fob off reply. Dont worry just phone and ask them today. Tell them that you have already waited x amount of weeks and therefore would like a reply within the time period allowed which is 8 weeks in total.
    good luck
  • sorry forgot to add that they did this to me and 3 working days after i asked for it to be re evaluated I recieved an offer in the post.

Dont panic its just a way for them to stall, and the nice man I spoke to told me that 1 person in 20 wont ask for it to be re evaluated so they hope to recoup losses from that one person.

go for it what have you to lose!!!!

  • 2 Letters and 2 Phone Calls and Still be ignored!!

    Hi,

    I have been through the following using the templates found on this website;

    * Sent a letter with a £10 Postal Order requesting copy of all Bank Charges on the 13th April 2007.
    * No response at all received via letter within 40 days.
    * After 40 days had elapsed, I telephoned Halifax Customer Service and they claimed had no record of my account exisiting with them. Then they advised that they would reply by letter to any bank re-charge claim. (They closed my Account down in Sept 2005 without any notification after I went overdrawn - basic account)
    * Sent further Letter after 49 days of last letter requesting information within 7 days, sent on the 4th June 2007 to their main address and a copy of both letters was also sent to Date Protection Manager, Halifax Bank, Trinity Road, West Yorkshire, HX1 2RG - Still no reply from Halifax.
    * Telephoned this morning and again was informed they had no record of my account and to write to the main Halifax Leeds address again.
    * Submitted complaint to Information Commissioner this morning.

    Anyone else had this problem?

Any ideas what I should do next??

    Good morning all...
Just a quick question... Claiming on behalf of the wife for just over 2 grand. They initially asked for eight weeks. Which we gave them. Just before the eight weeks was up the replied that they were not going to pay out. Rang the number on the letter to say not happy and would like the case re-evaluating. Have since rang yesterday and been told that they have escalated the claim....
What does escalating the claim mean?
    cheers

I think this just means they are assessing it mate. When is the 8 weeks up ? As far as I know they have 8 weeks from when they received the claim to resolve it or to give you the option of going to the F.O. They DON'T have 8 weeks to reply then a further 8 weeks to sort it. If the 8 weeks is up then phone them and say it's been 8 weeks - tell them they have 7 days to come up with an offer. If they don't then you will either be going to the F.O. or initiating court proceedings depending on which way you want to take it. Also tell them you are confirming this 7 day deadline by registered delivery letter.

It means that they are near the time scale they are set out so you should hear quite soon. good luck but if you havent heard in a week ring again and draw thier attention to the fact you have been waiting some time already.
  • Does anyone know what you do if they just ignore your first 2 letters?

    Has anyone had this problem?

I would send another recorded delivery and say it's the third letter you've sent and that you want a reply within 7 days. I only gave them 7 days on my first letter and got a reply dated the day they received it.
