Davefcuk,
Sorry,my reply was meant to say I'd tried to use the thanks button and that wasn't working. Thanks for info though.0 -
I'm too ill to cope with all this. Is there someone I can contact for immediate
help? I know I'm asking the impossible.[/QUOTE]
Sorry to barge in, Have you tried talking to social services, you may be entitled to a crisis loan. I could be wrong, but I am just thinking if you have no money, then it may be quicker to go down this route than citizens advice. If you talk to someone from DSS, they should be able to do something!!! Good Luck!!!0 -

as for people on benefits you do get reduced court fees not sure if its free tho but i might be wrong
If you are claiming both working tax credit and child tax credit you get your fees waivered. We will win this! we will!.... and we did! :j0 -
:rotfl: Just thought I'd make you all smile in the dark days before you all get refunded your bank charges!!!
I calculated the statutory due on my account last week...
I recalculated it again today (just to be sure, natch!)
Opps, glad I did that; I seem to have made a mistake along the way.
TAP TAP TAP.......yawn! (concentrate girl, think of that car you've promised yourself!!!)
And then the PENNY DROPPED.......Of course the amount would have increased since last week...it's that stuff called interest!!!
What the fatcats at the Halif*@x eat for breakfast...ARGGGHHHH!!!!
Note to self: Recalculate just before you end up in court.

I originally wrote to Halifax (local branch) with 1st letter requesting statements on 3rd April. Heard nothing and they havent cashed cheque. Phoned their general banking number on 26th April and spoke to Gemma who after explaining everything said she could send me a list of all charges on account at no cost(!) within 2 days and would cancel cheque. Still heard nothing.
Do I ring them again, do I write again to head office or wait a bit longer.
I really dont want to wait too much longer as I am worried I will miss the boat and not get my charges back which I anticipate to be around £4500 mark! any advice much appreciated please0 -
Evening all,
Looking for a wee bit of advice please. I'm claiming charges from both Halifax and Bank of Scotland and both came in with offers yesterday of half of the amount claimed. Anyone else experienced this? Should I accept or chance my arm and try to reclaim the total amount??
Thanks, LornaThanks for the advice Martin! :money:Member no. 920 - Proud to be dealing with our debts0 -
Hi
Yes Weve just got back almost £11.000 (including £250 court fee) from the Halifax. We wrote to ask for the money to which we received a reply acknowledging our complaint ????and informing us that they were legally allowed something like 40 days to investigate. I dismissed this and went straight to court using Money claim online. Within the week they acknowledged service of the claim and two and a half weeks later I received a letter stating that without admission they would be paying the full amount into our accounts because it would cost them money to defend the claim. Good Luck to everyone and a great big Thank you to Martin for all of his hard work:T :j :rotfl:0 -
