I've looked back over your posts and to be honest I don't understand the problem

You got your statements back in February and started your claim and presumably with no replies you have now started court action. You now need to wait to see if the bank submit a defence and then take it from there.

Thanks for looking back Edinburghlass - the problem is the Halifax returned my letter with the list of charges attached (twice) each time asking for an additional £10 (on top of the cheque sent in payment for the statements). The first time I refused to pay but the second time the local branch said they couldn't forward the letter without the cheque as it was for Admin costs.... So I caved in...
  • Hi ya this is my first time on here:confused:

I received all my statements from halifax within a metter of days and I wrote to them requesting my charges back with interest and I have now received a standard complaint letter back saying they have up to 8 weeks to resolve my complaint inline with FSA guidelines. Is this normal?

    Hi
Just a quickie to let you know I have been dealing with the Halifax and for me everything has gone pretty smoothly!!!! Early February I requested statements, sent to me within 7 days, sent request for charges about 10 days ago, received offer Friday, refused by phone this morning, customer service bod went of to check and came back and offered me full refund. Job Done!!!!!!!!! Off to purchase 2 flight seats to Vegas!!!!!!!!!
  • I can't believe it. The Halifax just rolled over and refunded £2582 (my whole charges over the period) without a fight. It only took the first two letters. They then phoned me, offered a settlement of £1600 which I declined, them £2000 - again declined - then the full amount. I know I could have gone for interest but because so many charges were involved, it would have been hard to set out for court. Still, seeing them just roll over without a fight has got to be a sign of things to come.
One interesting thing though, since they've come clean and played the white man, I'm inclined to forgive all past demeanours and stick with them. They've done the right thing by me. Funny things emotions and banks!

help:eek: just received a letter off halifax on the 14 day deadline. The letter states that they are unable to refund the charges because there is no error on the part of halifax:confused: Right so do i now take them to court? or do you think its worth a go at phoning them?
