halifax bank charges (merged)

Hi,
We have 2 accounts with Halifax, one a single account and the other a joint account, both of them have had charges applied to them.
Can we still claim for each of those accounts? Or can we only do one account per bank does anyone know?
Also can you claim for charges in connection with unpaid direct debits? We were charged £39 for a couple of unpaid direct debits.
Thanks

One letter for all the infomation Halifax holds on you should give your details for both accounts (include both account numbers in the letter). The bank can only charge £10 max for all the info you need/want.
THIS THREAD (post number 4) has a list of charges you can reclaim. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

grrrrrrrr i hate the halifax, have been on the phone today to ask why i have had no response to my letter to tell me that they are dealing with my request when they have cashed my cheque, only to be told that they havent received it. I stated to the lovely person on the phone that they clearly had as my 10.00 cheque has been cashed, she then stated im sorry but we have had no correspondance from you at all and definately had no cheque, so i said it must be a lucky thief whos name is halifax plc that got hold of my cheque and cashed it. So they are "looking into it for me". Grrrrrr theyll be looking into a lot more before long. Has anyone else had this with them?
many thanks

Hello.
Ok, just to summarise where I am with my first claim to Halifax Bank.
I sent a DPA/SAR letter to them on the 29th September 2006, recorded delivery of course.
Now, to today's date 12/12/2006 I have not had any reply, nor have I had any statements.
I sent a reminder letter 14 days after the original, which as you can see got no attention.
I even telephoned their Data Protection department and a lady said she would look into it for me, and either process my request or call me back if any issues.
That was about three weeks ago.
So, Halifax have defaulted on their DPA duty.
What should I do from here? Can I claim any compensation ontop of my claim for bank charges? Does this give me any more ammunation in my claim against them?0 -
Send the letter in THIS POST.
This has nothing to do with your claim for bank charges, but they have breached your rights under the Data Protection Act. You can't claim extra compensation for this. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

Thanks, I shall send a letter similar to that then again in the hope that it gets their attention.
If, they fail to produce my statements in 7 days I will report them to the ICO.
I guess I will just have to keep bugging them0 -
Hi All,
I am about to try and reclaim charges for my Halifax current account (£192)and Halifax credit card (waiting for statements).
I hope this doesnt sound like a silly question but do I make the claim seperately for each account or do I combine ALL the charges for both accounts together.
Thanks0 -
Hello
My boyfriend incurred a charge last month of £30 for going £1.19 overdrawn. he has banked with Halifax for 10 years but they are refusing to refund it. I now want to write a letter of complaint but I'm rubbish at wording such things. Would anybody have a letter template?0 -
Worked my charges and interest out and I am posting (recorded delivery) my claim for £2,182.30 including interest tonight! :rotfl:
14 Days on countdown!!!0
