  • Wrote to halifax on 30th November with tempkate letter giving 14 days for full response, received letter back dated 6th December saying letter passed to their Customer Relations have just telephoned them today and they have said they have 8 weeks to reply and i will not hear anything till 4th January at least, are they correct in what they say or can i do something else?
  • Hi,

In short (again this is my assumption) I don't think because you reach an aggreement (or accept payment) for one claim/period of time, that you then lose your right for any other claim.

i totally agree, the final settlement is only on the claim submitted, any further charges would be subject to a new claim, however i think that from now on any charge i get will be challenged from day one in my local branch, siting the previous payment as an admission of unlawfulness! (if and when i get it!!!!)

its your timeline not theirs - stick to your own, you'll find they reply by the date you give anyway
  • Hi,

this is just my assumption so please check first!

When I went about claiming my charges back it was for a specific period of time. I was claiming for almost two thousand pounds charged over twelve months, I got to the stage when they offered half the money back, I was that financially desperate I accepted. however, as far as I'm concerned that claim was for the period stated within the letters of correspondence and the "refund" was only for the time period within the dates specified. Therefore I have every intention of making a fresh claim for the charges I recieved outwith that time period.

In short (again this is my assumption) I don't think because you reach an aggreement (or accept payment) for one claim/period of time, that you then lose your right for any other claim.

    hope this helps, FCC

unless you actually sign a letter that says "i will not claim again" youre okay

By the way... I've been filling in the breakdown of charges spread sheet and I've no idea what some of the charges were for 3 or 4 years ago. It's not really clear from my statements and I have no record of the rates of charges back then. Can any one help?

got a reply today from halifax, thank you for your letter blah blah blah, reply within 4 weeks!! etc, well after 14days the second letter will be going!
  • Received all my statements today - in 17 seperate envelopes!

Will have to look into them over the next few days but just wondered, is everyone going ahead and charging them for interest also or just the amount you have been charged from them over the years?

Just wanted to check which is most successful before I send my letter off.

    Cheers!

No, that address is only for your DPA request. All the addresses you need for each stage are in THIS THREAD.
