Thought I'd join in.
I received an offer today of £187.00. They owe me £311.00 so I've sent them a letter of rejection. I'm due to file at court next Monday. When I get my money it's going to pay off some of my credit card. We've got a claim with Lloyds going on on my partners account. Then we've got a claim with Lloyds for me, 3 with HSBC and a CC with HSBC too.

hi all,
I have submitted a claim to intelligent finance (they are apart of Halifax) i have sent the first letter so far, anyhow today i received a standard reply basically saying get lost with an ombudsman complaint procedure leaflet, the 14 days notice response period for the 1st letter doesn't expire for another 10days - as i have received that reply can i send the 2nd letter before court action now? or do i have to wait until the 14days as expired?0 -
Hi, took halifax to court as well as intelligent finance. thats 6.12.06, Halifax appealed but today recieved a letter for the full £645. awaiting IF. Fab...0

Hi, I applied to the courts last week to claim £1,500 from the Halifax, I started this back in July. Can anyone tell me how long it will take them to pay back the charges. Thanks0

If the bank decide to settle straight away, it could be a couple of weeks. If they decide to enter a defence and leave it till just before the court date to settle, it could be another 2 or 3 months. Of course, there is always a very very slim chance that the bank will decide to let this case go to a hearing. It depends what the bank decides what to do in this case. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

edtheduck wrote:Well, i've got my letters ready asking for list of charges from Halifax and First Trust (in NI). Posting recorded delivery tomorrow.
Also letter asking for refund of charges on another halifax account (newer, so have all charges available online) - going recorded tomorrow too!
Total claimed : £157.03 (with int) - not all of the charges have been applied yet (1 @ end of dec.), but totted them all up anyway.
Using address in Halifax.
will keep you informed of my progress :-)
Got fob off letter on 6/12/06 for the refund letter, saying they'll reply in 4 weeks.
I take it i just wait 'til 20th Dec. (14 days since they received my letter) and send the next letter threatening to take them to court??
Still no confirmation that they've received the other one requesting my statements............0 -
Hi,
Can any one help me, how long does the Halifax take to pay out after they have sent you a letter offering you a sum, i sent the letter of acceptance back to them on Wednesday this week. Searched other threads can't find one that relates to my question. Their letter of offer came after i sent them a letter telling them that i would take them to court.
thanks

Hi everyone
Just to share my story... I sent my DPA letter back in August and have only received the copies of statements I requested today! Most annoying is that I requested the details for two bank accounts and they've only sent the statements for one of them. It took a visit to the bank, telephone calls and a letter threatening to report them to the information commissioners to even receive this much. I know I should've been hotter on chasing them but had other things going on...
Anyway, I'm about to send a letter threatening AGAIN if they don't send the statements for the other account, but I only sent one £10 fee originally as I thought that covered both accounts. Does it?
Also, any recommendations re: "the interest issue" at this point. Have people been more successful when asking for interest and bartering, or when they just ask for the basics?
Thanks, Tinwe0 -
Hi all,
Halifax have taken £525 in charges over lest 3yrs (we've only been with them for that length), got a letter today offering £31.22!?!?!
Are they taking the michael?
Obviously i'll be rejecting this offer.
Can anyone point me in the right direction of the 'thanks but no thanks' rejection letter please?
I don't want to word it myself as i'll find it difficult to not be rude, so i'd rather send a standard letter ;-)0
