This is just a quick question for fellow board members. Tomorrow is the 14th day after sending the request for a refund of my charges. What would you say is the best approach.
1) Give them a call and see if they will settle over the phone as has happened in many cases.
2) Send them the template letter requesting a settlement within 14 days to avoid court action.
3) Going straight to filing a court claim.
Your thoughts would be much appreciated.0 -
hi all im about to send my 2nd letter as i recieved the normal wait 8 week reply i know most are waiting for the eight weeks but some of you skipped it and used your own timescale so i am but if i get the response of we ARE allowed 8 weeks do i wait another 14 days then fill out the small claims court forms and go from there
many thanks phil and kirsty0 -
Hi There
I have got my full 5 years bank statements for Bank of Scotland and my charges are £1378. I am going to claim £738 on one letter and then claim outsatnding on the next (just to keep in the £750, in case it goes to court). I would like to send my letter to the right place. Does anyone have the address to send this letter to the bank of scotland or should I just send it to my local branch in Glasgow??0 -
Send your claim to your local branch initially. I wouldn't split it yet as is only when/if it comes to filing at court that this may come into play so just send your initial letter off asking for the full amount.0

I am off to eurodisney next tuesday and could do with the money. Just waiting to have my capital one claim be put into my account as well.
I had a letter last Thursday saying they would put the money into my account within the next 14 working days. I would also like to know roughly how long it takes. Nothing gone in so far!0 -

Hi
Yes, the process for credit cards is the same as for banks, obviously just adapt the templates to read 'late charges' and 'overlimit fees' etc.
Write to the data protection dept addresses in the help thread (post 4) and supply them with all the details you have, for example your date of birth, when you closed the account, the address last used, what kind of card it was - just as much as you can remember. They should be able to locate your account from these details. You've got a very good chance of success, have a look through the success thread.
Good luck with all your claims, hope to see your name in the success thread soon!!
Regards
