Sent letter requesting statements back in December, after several phone calls they finally sent them at the end of January/beginning of February. Sent my first letter off on 7th February, recorded and was received on 8th. Not even had an acknowledgement to the letter, so today I will send the second letter. If there is one thing I have noticed through this whole process its that the Halifax have a habit of burying their heads in the sand in the hope that you disappear!!
My claim isn't as large as some, at £567, but today I will add the interest on too, I have yet to work it all out, but estimate it will take the claim up to around £750. I have a feeling they are just gonna ignore this letter too, just my luck grrrr!!
Anyway, just thought I'd pop in and let you know. I'll keep you all posted on any further developments.

Just phoned the Halifax regarding a different matter entirely and asked out of curiosity why they had chosen to ignore the letter regarding the charges, after tapping away on her keyboard for a few seconds she informed me that a letter of acknowledgement had been sent, but for some reason was sent to a previous address!! She has emailed the relevant department to stress that any further correspondance be sent to my present address and told me that I should receive a full reply by 8th March. I thanked her for checking and informed her that I would be sending another letter stating my intentions to take the Halifax to court, she then blabbed on about how legally they have 8 weeks, and they are inundated with requests and that the fact they are responding within a 4 week period is excellent blah, blah, blah. But since she was such a lovely person I thanked her for her time and told her I look forward to receiving the reply.
But I'm still sending letter 2 lol!!!

If loan payments are up to date, they shouldn't touch it.0 -
This is the first time I have written. Really want to get our bank charges back from the Abbey, especially when they caused us to go overdrawn twice by reducing, then stopping the overdraft facility without informing me. They also did not pay a council tax payment in 2002 which gave me overdraft charges and I had to pay the money again out of my account causing me to go overdrawn. They told me the money had been put into another account but it cant be traced where too. It was only £60 not much but alot to me. Can I claim for this too?
We are struggling at the moment due to my being only on statutory sick pay due to recovering from an operation after having a 3yr illness my husband is now on job seeker allowance as he cant find work and is looking after me.
Very concerned that if I try to get bank charges back as we have overdrawn in basic account that Abbey will close our account. We wont get another as our credit rating will be bad at the moment. Very desperate for any ideas.0 -

You can get another Basic Bank Account as they don't require credit checks, I opened one with Nat West they were very good and helpful, I tried the Co-Op first but they were NOT very Co-Operative!

Started the process last week with reclaiming OHs charges with the Halifax, but we sent our 1st letter and our £10 cheque to the Branch in question and not the Data Protection Manager. Is this going to make any major difference?0

I phoned the halifax and they said it was because my Sky Digital direct debit failed. I told her that this was impossible as i had transfered £100 on the 10th and the sky doesn't get taken till the 12th. On my statement the £100 transfered on the 10th...........so how the hell did my DD not get paid and WHY ON EARTH have i had to pay a £39 fine WITHOUT NOTICE
I am so angry that my stomach and chest are burning with fury
I have since found out (after HOURS of phone calls) that Sky have been charging me £30 a month on top of my £51 bill, for not having my Sky box connected to a phone line!!!!!!! When i moved in August they never changed my address EVEN though i phone them. Therefore i have never received any correspondance!!! This is why the direct debit failed. Surely this is unlawful too???? Si all in all SO FAR i have been charged £90 in three weeks!!!Lloyds TSB Loan £5500 Tesco Loan £11000

Proud to be dealing with my debts0
