ROFL - FRESH sprouts wouldn't provoke that level of enthusiasm from me, never mind the tinned variety!

Right.....prompted by Doodledo.....I am committing to saving some money. Proper savings...

My aim is to have £5000 in savings by the end of 2011. That will have to come partly from savings out of my monthly income, and partly from my annual bonus.

The idea is that this still leaves me enough in my income to spend on fun things, like having a life, and will not impact on my new "must haves" like the cleaner, and my leg waxes!

So.....my signature will show my savings target which will hopefully act as an incentive. I am not going all guns blazing at it, though, as I have done that for the last few years and need to cut myself a bit of slack but I do need to keep myself focused so that I don't end up with nothing in a couple of years.

this sounds like a great goal! good luck with it, and with finding the right balance.

Thank you! Yes, I think my keyword for 2011 will be "balance".....trying to find the right mix of moneysaving and life living..trying to balance my hectic and timeconsuming roles at work and as a mother, with my "new" discovery of the fact I can have a life too.....

Plus trying to maintain the exercise balance and the general "me" time too.

If I can get through this year having found all of that, I will consider it a job well done and with a bit of money in the bank I will be confident of being able to maintain it going forward for years to come.

I *am* feeling very positive about it all and am looking forward to it :D

  • Hypno if you can pay 20-30k some years off the debt then I am in no doubt that you will save 5k and also have the life you deserve through out the year.

As for waxing I think you deserve the treat but ever the MSE have you thought of an epilator, does the same job while saving you money in the long run :o
