Our elf is currently hanging from a wreath hanger in the front room as he has apparently decided the house needs some Christmas decorations and he got tangled up on the wreath. Before we go and collect the kids I am going to add some rainbow drops in the floor as poo underneath him as I know my 8 yr old ds will get a kick out of the fact he isn't toilet trained yet. :D

omg my kids have fell for it hook line and sinker, the facebook page did it for my 14 year old ha ha - set up a page for my other elf so expect requests from blinky, and twinkles will be made tonight, will be checking in later when the kids are ignoring me ha ha
  • Well struck gold today! Went into town(braved the snow!) and decided to find something I could turn into an Elf, tried to have an open mind. The first charity shop I visited is run by a friend, luckily he was there so I could quiz him about his stock, as we were talking, what did I find but a brilliant (naked!) troll soft toy for £2 - like this but without clothes and with his hair styled upwards(which can be changed easily I guess)! Couldn't believe my luck! Also got a teddy snowman(£1)(he may visit ;)) and my friend pulled a small pillow off a teddy that was 'holding' it and gave it to me, it didnt damage the teddy and I can make a good elf pillowcase! Over the moon! Went to Boyes(haberdashery) and got an offcut of wonderful christmas fabric for elf clothes plus coloured felt for hat/waistcoat/boots etc and bells. In wilko I got a small fabric Santa bag, some craft activities and some cadbury elves(18p each can't remember if that is good!) and in Poundland I got an elf hat with ears for my son, fake snow and a notebook to cover with fabric.

I have already made his trousers :D I will be trying to sew his ears tightly to make them pointy and finish his outfit ASAP. When I showed my mum my plans she bought 2 of the same dolls off ebay as she fell straight in love with him and got one for my niece and one she will let me give to my sons school if they want to borrow it, I am going to get everything ready for my niece too as her parents work full time and my Mum looks after her a lot.

I know I got very lucky but I think anyone looking for a doll must have an open mind - I lowered my expectations so what I found became perfect!

So now we are awaiting the arrival of Merry Jingle-Snow, who is currently on his way (may send a note from Santa as a teaser!).

To Nenen: I have told my sons teacher(Y3) about the elves and am hoping she will get into the spirit of it, am making her the stuff anyway but felt like she may think I have too much time on my hands lol! Do you mind me showing her a copy of your posts when i give her info, so she can see how to use the elf in her lesson plans? Also are you aware of any teacher resources discussing the elves?

    Thanks

    Hopefully pictures soon!

thats great - but you dont have to make pointy ears - none of my 3 eves have got them, and on berties website it says eelves come in all shapes and sizes etc. bertie was a "7-dwarfe" from snow white, merry was a xmas rag doll, and jingle-jangle was an aurora doll.

the elves will be writing xmas cards tonight so if anyone else wants 1 for their elf please PM elf name and your address.

Hi everyone, I have loved reading through your Elf arrivals - I am so pleased i found this thread and bought myself an Elf!!!

Our Elf Patch arrived after school today with his passport, journal, advent calendars, some chocolate elves for the kids and a letter from santa! My 4 year old DD was so exited, the look on her face was priceless and she hasn't put him down since!! She has given him a tour of the house and told him all about school :) She has wrote in his journal already because she wants to know: How do you walk when no-one is here? and do you talk? so i'll have to answer tonight ;)

We've just come down after bath time and the Elf bed my DH made has now magically appeared on the rug, so now he is getting tucked in for bed!!

I love this Elfing business so much!!! As for the other 2 children - DD 14, is in her room pretending not to be impressed as her friends are here and DS 3 was just going with the flow, but is now fast asleep in bed lol !!

doodledoodle24 - Your Reindeer is fantastic!!!
  • From a place called the old watermill, it's a dickension village:)
    is officially a GLEEK
  • your reindeer is gorgeous where did you get it from???

Thankyou:) I got him from an old dickension village (at least that's what I think it's called) at a place called the old watermill in Barton hills. Can get one for you if you like. Think he was about £15.00. Xx

My elf is also a TY Beanie like that on your link but with short brown hair. You can also buy outfits for them on ebay and I was lucky enough to get an elf outfit so keep a look out!
