Our elf is coming today too. DD2 has a letter saying that our new elf couldn't come by Polar Express this year as the driver wouldn't let him on as he was too naughty. So he is coming by post today (OH is a postie). I've said that only good kids get elves because they're needed to teach the elf to be good. I also said that Dad was a naughty boy and that's why he didn't get an elf when he was a boy.
Santa wrote that DD1 (12 years older than DD2) got coal one year and he hoped DD2 wouldn't get any. I'm awful but it all adds to the fun, and DD2 will think it's so funny.
I'm about to parcel Jingles all up and she can open him when she gets back from school. I can't wait to see her face.I :heartpuls M.S.E.Mortgage Free 18/01/10 13 years and 8 months early on a 20 year mortgage!

My neice and nephew got a letter from Santa on Monday (I got a pile of fake snow - yes we didn't have real snow! put the letter on top, knocked on door and ran). My neice got scared that an elf was coming to live in their house and asked if they could write to santa and ask him not to come!! There was lots of tears!
So, much talking about how elves are nice and fun and only little and not scary and she decided she would let him come, but asked whether she could send him back if she didn't like him!
He arrived this morning and she loves him! My nephew is 18months and doesn't understand but likes the bells on the sleeping bag. She is so excited and has told everyone about him on the way to school.
So glad she has changed her mind!Mort at highest - June 2008 - £171,000 - Daily Int 5.9% = £27.64:eek:Offset Mort - Nov 2010 £150,299- Daily Int 3.75% = Nov £15.44Mortgage Jan 2012 - £136,000 - Daily Int 3.75% - £3.100 -

Peppermint and Reg arrived this morning with the advent calenders and new hat, gloves and scarfs for my two,, I'd forgot to buy a journal this year so wrote a note and made it soggy and crumpled to say they'd been lost in a snow storm (was going to get a journal today but the snow here is just tooo bad to go out in so will have to have a think). Had some fake snow sprinkled all over and really shakey handwritting on the letter.
Kids were so overjoyed to see them DS sat for 5 mins giving them each a big hug and telling them how much he missed them, when I've come in from work there's a huge pile of xmas dvd's beside Peppermint and Reg that the kids must have left before going to school.:beer:0
