Hello all. I've been lurking since forgetting my password and not getting around to sorting it out
I got involved in this last year after reading this thread whilst recouperating from an operation. Mr Jingles and Twinkletoes have just arrived again.
I asked ds to get the door while I was getting something out of the fridge. He said he didn't hear anything but I said he was just not listening. I had to hide my face behind the fridge door to stop him seeing me smiling. Straight away he remembered his name from last year and was very happy to see that even though he didn't have his journal (forgot!) he had brought some sweets for the journey. I said that maybe their luggage would be sent separately (oh where do the little white lies end?)
Looking forward to some of the naughty things they are going to get up so

Hello All
I got a small (one person) cake in M&S today. It is sponge with an icing elf on the top, expensive at £1.19 or 2 for £2 but got one for my son from his elf. DS is 9 and to be honest I think it's the christmas elf that keeps his belief in FC going.
Tomorrow he will get a letter from his elf (never seen in person) and the cake. He will also find a letter written to elf from FC, asking elf to keep an eye on DS as he has asked for an expensive present this year and FC needs to know if he is being especially good.
Have fun everyone, we loved having elf last year.

Mine rang the door bell and were found freezing on the snow outside on their sledges.........
.they had advent calendars, post box, clothes, sleeping bags and an elf file.
Kids were/are overjoyed and are just setting them up for the night........I hope they are not too naughty tonight

BTW I saw a post box exactly like the one my elves brought in the card factory for £1.29.
My elves will leave messages in there as will the kids in response.
I also saw snowmen and penguins for 99p if you elves need some company

Hi,
Our Elf, Esme Stripey Tights will be arriving over night. She came last year and was a real hit with my now 5 and 6 year olds.
Looking forward to the look on my childrens face when she gets up to her mischief! :T

Ooh I am so excited! I decided at the last minute today to make a sleigh, which I have finally finished, I have wrapped some presents for my DD's from the elf and packed them in his bag with some chocolate and advent calanders. Have just written in his journal as well for my DD's to read in the morning.
Just need to scatter some glitter snow and take some photos and I am done until tomorrow!
Have fun everyone!0 -
Pleeeeease can someone give me links to other topics discussing visiting elves. I have only seen this topic tonight and Im so excited by it but I have read 10 pages(making notes!) but feel there is a lot I am missing - some conversations I assume refer to posts elsewhere. I have also tried searching but no luck and I promise I am not one of those lazy people that expects everything to come to them in one post!
Desperate now to get an elf(contemplating sending hubby to Tescos to see what he can find tonight as im too excited!), decorationss not going up til weekend so arrival can coincide with that(maybe 'he' will put them up for us to apologise for being late!?) - can also blame snow for his late arrival hehe!
Thanks in advance!
PS Just one question, will my elf do my housework while I sleep or is that expecting too much

Our Santa letter arrived this afternoon along with the personalised card from M&S, kids are so excited. My eldest even pre-empted one of the activities, when I read that the elves were mischievious she said 'oh no I bet they're going to eat our chocolates' lol0 -

Eggnog has just arrived, he's currently making himself comfortable and appears to have brought advent callendars (x5) and a peppa pig dvd for the afternoon (all big fans in this house inc adults). I've given him his own corner (where the tree will go eventually).
He has also brought his passport and journal (notebook covered in santa fabric, containing rules and advice) as well as a glittery scented pen to write with. His sleeping bag is about to be constructed out of same fabric as book cover but I did not get around to making a bag of snow yet. I'm thinking at this stage it will have to be icing sugar in a cellophane bag.
Have put a few decorations around the room, hoping to get the tree on sun, but it may be next week if the snow hits. I am still in two minds over whether he should be seen or not. Dcs are all under 8, so I'm thinking go for seen, but I'm worried about dissappointing the older two. Saying that we've had the "if you don't believe you won't be visited" discussion regarding the toothfairy recently so hopefully can get away with it.
Amy, thank you so much for all your hardwork on this thread. I'm not up to getting him on FB this year, but if it all goes well, will def be something else for me to do next time.
I cannot wait to see the childrens faces in the morning.I was a twin mum +2 but have been a twin mum +3 for a few years now.
