  • Information came from a customer services 'agent' when I rang this morning to make a Debit Card top-up to the account I opened on Tuesday. I am awaiting funds from a matured bond elsewhere to clear so asked specifically about further deposit next week. All accounts already open have 7 days from today and she confirmed last day for topping up is next Thursday. Skipton 's cut off time is 4 pm.

I've just spoken to Customer Services - I was told that payments would be accepted to midnight next Friday.

Friday has two midnights. 0:00 (Thursday/Friday) and 24:00 (Friday/ Saturday). Which is it?
  • Should I be worried?

I have been checking the account I mentioned earlier in the thread to check that the funds had successfully arrived. I see today that the funds have left the Halifax and arrived at Skipton. My worry is that on the account summary page the interest on this account is 0.0%

Has anyone else checked and seen the 3.3% I was expecting?

    Thanks
    Tony
  • ISTR it goes up from 0.0 to 3.3 once £500 has been credited.

Yes,mine read 0% until the money was credited, then it changed to the correct percentage.
  • Now I am getting worried!

The balance is definitely showing as correct at Skipton and the reduced balance in my Halifax account reflects the transfer so I will sleep on it and see what the morning (or overnight batch run) brings.

The correct interest rate will show on the account the next day. Skipton's online accounts don't update immediately but overnight.
