Caroline, very impressed that you have enrolled and come on here to help out.As i said before,i found it easy to apply and easy to make a deposit shortly.
However the means of registering for gross interest is anything but. Most institutions i have dealt with enable you to register online.I did print off an r85 via the tax site, but spent one heck of a long time trying to find out where to send it!! Took so long that in the end i gave up and spent a further few minutes finding out how to get one sent to me so at least i knew where to send it back!
Perhaps you could pass on that feedback,as i felt it let the process down.0 -
Good to see Skipton being flexible and confident enough in their staff to have them help in this way.
Would have saved Natwest no end of flak and ill-feeling had they responded in a similar way when several errors appeared on their website relating to a new bonus offer of their E-savings account. Well done Skipton.0 -
Caroline, any idea how long this bond will be available? I've got a Kent Reliance Bond maturing on the 26th and this would be a great place to move the proceeds to!0

With regards to the paper ID required, this is only needed in a handful of occurrences and happens when our online identity check does not find someone matching the details entered when you apply. We require the ID to be sent in as this is a regulatory requirement in relation to Money Laundering and once received, you will be able to log in as normal.
Amazing- The first organization that I've opened a new account with and not previously had an account with that actually did not required me to produce paper copies of my ID - so it can be done: yes my credit report is perfectly normal but still I'm always asked to 'produce' every time. I wonder if it is anything to do with the extra bit of data required in the application by the Skipton and that was my NI number - usually only ISA accounts need this.0 -
One further query that i expect many people will have also. How long after opening are you allowed to have it before putting funds in?I am ok,will be in by Wednesday but some people may be having to wait longer. Can they open the account now and put their money in even after the bond is withdrawn?0
-
Oh well - I'm one of the 'very few people' required to provide paper ID.
Not going to bother now - 3 different forms of ID is far too much hassle - I will put my cash elsewhere!0 -
I do hope the powers that be allow Caroline to return.Help like that is rare and she was good enough to give of her time with no gain intended by it.0
