    hello again!

DH has just gone upstairs in a strop because I was in charge of the remote and he didn't want to watch what I did:rolleyes: he hardly ever watches TV and usually doesn't mind what we have on. I told him he was petty and childish.
Annoys me when people are having really serious problems in their lives for him to be so silly over something trivial:mad:

Have switched it off in protest!:p :D and am going to annoy him by reading my book in bed which usually annoys him when he's trying to sleep:p :D;) (now who's childish:o )

    He'll get over it:rolleyes:

See you in the morning folks!

    Do what you love :happyhear
  • I switch mine on every night just before I go up to bed. Occasionally I run a cycle during the day, but only if I have been baking alot or have had people round.

    Hi

thought I'd pop back cos I'm at a bit of a loose end. I know I should be tidying the front room or knitting dds hat or making the fish pie for tomorrow or ........

DH has gone off to A&E - he squirted some liquid from a fairy dishwasher tablet in his eye and his vision went a bit funny. I got him to call NHS direct and they said to go to a&e. So MIL has taken him since I can't leave the kids. And I really don't want her to have to sit in my untidy house:o .

Basically here to admit I'm not OSing.

    Maybe tomorrow.

On the subject of dishwashers, I only usually have mine running once a day, overnight. If I know im using too many pans and dishes then I will wash some up by hand. I just don't think to put it on more than once. The only day I have it on more than once is Christmas day because Im not washing up unnecessarily on that day!!!
  • Hi Everyone
Finally got to sit down! I thought that 'cos I only work term time that half term would be a holiday - how wrong can you be! Still DD1 now has an Anthea'd bedroom (ie we found the floor in there) DS is next on the hit list tomorrow! DD2 can wait for now. Jane Eyre didn't manage to help me conquer the ironing yesterday - so I was 'forced' to watch the lovely Rupert Penry-Jones in Spooks tonight! Much more done.
Thankyou all for making me feel welcome - still very new to this!

    Hello everyone

Mirakl...no you're not abnormal!! I live alone and run my DW usually once every two days, but if I've been v.industrious in the kitchen I might run it twice that day, maybe even three times. The story about your dog was v.funny...poor doggy!!

I've been in a bit of a strop this evening. I had a conversation with the local kids earlier. They were pulling planks off the communal fence which runs along behind these houses. I asked them to stop - they said no, and one of them said that if I go to his parents he'll say that I hit him. The planks, BTW, are to be used on a bonfire. I am really cross about it as you can imagine. The fence runs along a little country road - not terribly busy - but even so another neighbour's five year old and three year old got through the gap in the fence this afternoon to the side the road is on. The one mother I had spoken to previously about her child breaking fences (also one of today's kids) shut the door in my face - and of course that was chucked back at me today as well. So what can I do?? For some weird unknown reason the rest of the neighbours who back onto the fence don't do or say anything about the vandalism. I don't know why I am the only person bothered about it. So that's why I am cross this evening.

Otherwise, I had an alright day. Didn't quite manage the carpet shops, will try and force myself to go in the morning, and try not to get too irritated by the sales talk. I have filled a big bag with stuff to go to a charity shop, but know that if I give a more detailed look around I'll find more stuff to send. I'll do that in the morning too!

My third attempt at homemade yoghurt is in the slow cooker, per some instructions which TickleMouse posted some time ago. I hope it works...this is my third go... The first two results were basically milk with a slight yoghurt flavour, probably from the starter. I had used a thermos flask but I've worked out that it is rubbish and doesn't keep things warm. The 2nd attempt was wrapped up in a towel and put in the nice and toasty airing cupboard. I've been using UHT milk and some powdered milk.

That's it for now...I'm really tired at the moment, so might slip off to bed soon.

RonanKFan...hope you had a lovely birthday.

    Goodnight.

Snowy so sorry you get so little support from your neighbours!! It's typical in my experience that those who it most affects are the most indifferent!!!

Wish I could comment on DW but I DON'T HAVE ONE!!!! Please don't all feel TOO awkward or embarrassed about this!!:rotfl: :rotfl: My day WILL come, eventually!!!! All I need is the space then believe me a DW Will be part of my kitchen!!! Family will all have left home but hey ho, what's the difference!!

AussieLass, so glad to hear you sounding happier!!! DGS in daycare for two days will make such a difference to you all!! I bet he'll adore being with other kids!! I take it you're beating the "lurgy" at last:rotfl: :rotfl: Now you can flex those muscles helping DH with the house!! No excuses, all shoulders to the wheel!!

We've booked a holiday, 8 days to Malta!!!! Really looking forward to a relaxing time, just wish I hadn't gained so much weight recently!! Still better to be a fat nonsmoker, than a thin smoker, I suppose!!! Must get to bed, gym beckons in the morning!!
