Hugs to Westy and any other OSers needing one

Off w**k today - got sent home, found out at the weekend my 12 yo son is having trouble at school when he carved his arm up with a compass - on one hand I am relieved because it means he isn't suffering by himself anymore but on the other hand I feel destroyed. He's still my baby, you know?

Don't quite know why I've posted that - I just feel lost.

Anyway, trying to think of something productive to do or else I am just gonna sit here all day crying - so I'm getting the white vinegar out and I am gonna clean my patio windows.

Hope everyone has a good day xxx

    Hi everyone,

Westie - so sorry for your los. We have been going through it ourselves so I know how you feel.

    Happy birthday Ronankfan.

BIL's funeral went off as well as these things can DS and DD were very upset (as was DH) but hopefully will start to feel better now. SIL seems to be coping very well but I think that she's trying to do everything at once and it might hit her once she stops.

Got back yesterday and had do the usual weekend things in a day. Bought a whole salmon reduced to £10 in Saindsbury's, filleted it myself and boiled up the head etc to make stock ( although not sure what to do with that - it's now in the freezer).

Weight watchers tonight - hope I've lost weight.

    Sue
  • Morning all :grouphug: to Westy and a very happy birthday to Ronankfan.

Nix, my son did the same thing at about the same age. I never got to the bottom of why he did it, but I think just having us know about it and know that we were on his side helped. <hugs> Hope you get it sorted out.

I've just been out for a long canalside walk with a couple of friends, it's absolutely beautiful out today and the duckies were having a lovely time in the water, real 'autumn mists and mellow fruitfulness' time. I've got two loads of washing out on the line and have changed our bed so have been quite busy.

I've put the winter duvet on the bed but might regret that later - it's still quite warm here although I was chilly last night. Night sweats don't help either  I'm either frozen or steaming quietly under the covers.

    Breakfast: Bacon butty
    Lunch: Sandwich
    Dinner: prawn and pasta bake

    Have a good day everyone
    FF xx

Nix143 - That's a tough thing to deal with, it's good you've found out so soon.

Westy ((HUGS)) take it from me it can only get better. Every day the hurt and grief heal a little.
    **************

I had a truly embarrassing day yesterday as our dog got stuck in the river and couldn't find a way out (he's an idiot) he panicked badly and was screaming his head off. We finally managed to pull him out, with my poor Dad covered in nettle stings, and an audience to applaud our efforts. The little git didn't even have the !!!!!! to look embarrassed. My father isn't my OH's biggest fan now since he wasn't there to help.

Baked my very first Christmas cake ever last night. I hope it's good. Then moved on to making lemon curd, ran out of lemons and invented orange and cinammon curd for Christmas.
My Doctor told me that "1 out of 3 people who start smoking will eventually die." The other two apparently became immortal.

    Morning all :hello:

Big ((((hugs)))) to WestyWoodpecker, you must be going through so much heartache at the moment.

Flicked through yesterday's thread and just wanted to say I'm :j :j :j that you made up with your OH, Penny-Pincher!!

Sorry to moan but I'm feeling very very glum today. Was on the phone to my mum last night and apparently Grandma's condition has gone downhill again :( and my flat purchase is still at a standstill :( and I've spent all morning pointlessly running around after a long-overdue payment for a supplier which my company is being completely incompetent in processing.

Had a very productive day yesterday - managed to file oooodles of paperwork and chuck out 2 carrier bags full of newspapers etc. for recycling. Am having HM smoked salmon pasta for lunch and will be doing a sausage casserole for supper.

Can't stop, am flat out at work. See you later, Rzl xx

NIX - BIG HUGS for you and your DS. I hope you can work together as a family (as much as a 12 yr old will let you!) and help him through whatever it is that is causing him to hurt himself. There was an article about yound people self harming in yesterday's Stella magazine that comes with the Sunday Times. I can send it to you if you think it will help at all, even if its just for your own understanding??

    Loss to date 32.5lbs!!!
  • Nix :grouphug: I hope you can help your ds and find out what's troubling him.

Feeling virtuous today as I've been for a long walk - an hour and a quarter's worth, not sure what distance. I'm aiming to do this walk three times a week on top of my school run walks which amount to about 40 mins a day.

I've done a trip to Tesco too and some washing. Am planning sausage with swede and potato mash for supper. I'm going to do some braised red cabbage for myself as I'm the only one who likes it

    hugs to westy.

I feel so ill. I have a stinking cold that came from nowhere last night and now can barely lift my limbs, let alone spend any money. MSE in a sense I guess.
  • Afternoon guys :j

I am currently on day 11 of no smoking, and yes Queenie, those patches give me funny dreams, and short bursts of sleep  I had a particularly bad dream last night, from which I woke up from - went back to sleep and continued the dream  Still it's got to be worth it - I've currently saved £46.75 :D

Back to OS, dinner tonight will be HM spag bol, house needs a quick lick and washing needs to be put on when I get home. Although I need some matches to pin my eyes open - I am sooo tired

(((((hugs))))) to all that need them
Squares knitted for my throw ~ 90 (yes!!! I have finally finished it :rotfl: )
Squares made for my patchwork quilt ~ 80 (only the "actual" quilting to do now :rotfl:)

Nik - ((HUGS)) to you and your son x

scholt - hope you feel better soon

SOMO1 and Queenie - WELL DONE you are both doing really well xx

kiwi - I had a bad dye job (a friend and i, plus hair dye and 2 bottles of wine, not a good mix!!!!) and the following day i bought another darker colour and stuck it on top!!!! 3 months later, ive dyed it again, but then we had an outbreak of nits, and the nit shampoo seems to have stripped quite a lot of the colour (but luckily this time, it still looks ok!!!)

Well, back from the doctors, had to have 5 vials of blood taken (2 big ones) but so far the bruise left isnt too big or sore, so thats good. Will get the results tomorrow when i goto the hospital.
The little ones were really well behaved, so we trotted off to the train park (the climbing frames are a train!!!) and they love it there!!!! We also popped into the shops for some milk, stamps and i picked them up some new books in the charity shop (60p). Then went home and cut the grass (needed doing weeks ago!!!!) and just as i finished, all we could hear was rumbles of thunder and a big black cloud heading our way, so in we came. Still waiting for the rain tho, but has gone very black so could be anytime!!!! edit - its tipping down now and still rumbling with thunder!!!!!
Second load of washing just finishing (had hoped to peg it out outside, but had to put it all over the house now!!) so going to sort it out, also need to do the dishes.
    Have a great afternoon everyone

PP - hope all has gone ok at the hospital today xx

    Take care xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
