Morning all,
Oh Westy, I'm sure your sister will have know how much you cared for her. :grouphug:
Busy but lovely weekend, steady stream of people visiting so need to get cracking this morning and tidy up the aftermath. Baking this afternoon to replenish the supplies and need to pop into town to bank a couple of cheques. Decided not to go to Aqua fit this morning as it feels really cold outside, weather definately on the turn here.
Pen-penI say go for it:D you already sound to be half way there, didn't know you had a poly tunnel:j Would love to sell up ourselves but O/H being sensible says we have to pay off the mortgage first, only another 9 years then:cool:
Must dash, late as usual.
Take care

I am sure that your sister know that you loved her even if you did not get the chance to say the words. Big hug.
My dad was is a local hospice for about two months before he died in his sleep in August this year. They were fantastic at the hospice and short of the miracle that he did not have leukaemia, they were a miracle in themselves.

Is there anything like a "carpetright or carpetworld near you.?
We got two quotes from other places of £260 fior my dad's stair and hall carpet - eventually dragged DH to one last place "Carpetworld" saying "Look please just humour me and I promise not to go on about it".
Carpet had just been fitted for £142!!!
DH is in shock and kept looking at me as if I had performed magic - lol!
Have pastry thawing and may make a huge quiche today as I know my lot will eat it! If I can stop coughing and spluttering I may rouse myself to make soup in the slow cooker.
Hugs to everybody."This site is addictive!"

Morning all!
Got up with good intentions this morning - just hope it lasts the week! Im not going to have any alcohol this week and am going to eat as healthily as possible. Not bothered about losing weight (could do with losing at least half a stone really though) but I just want to feel less lethargic and tired all the time.
Started the morning by putting the WM on as they predicted a nice day and will be able to dry it outside. Will get a loaf going in the BM in a minute too. Have had Sainsburys fruit and nut mueslie with rice milk for breakfast (I know using Sainsburys isnt old style but I will get the ingredients to make my own if I get chance today.) Going to have a baked potato for lunch and made extra roast beef dinners yesterday so that me and OH have got our tea sorted out too. DD2 is having a HM pasta dish that I froze last week.
Im off to Sainsburys in a while because they have a lot of really nice Christmas gift sets on offer at the moment and they are really worth buying now. Ive made a list of people I need to buy for and will take it with me. Im hoping to get as many people sorted as possible. For example, they have got a Baileys miniature bottle and tumbler set reduced from £4 to £2.67, Champneys Complete Body Essentials Gift set reduced from £20 to £13.32. Theres 33% off all their gifts so well worth getting now before they go up to full price. Im afraid I don't have the sort of family that would appreciate HM gifts.
Sorry about your sister, Westy. A hard time for your family at the moment.:grouphug:
Have a good day everyone!0 -
Morning all
Thought I'd better pop in and say hello. I'm travelling up and down the country every weekend at the moment and haven't yet become organised enough to check online everyday.
Just read Westy's post, I'm very sorry for your loss. Thank you for the timly reminder about telling your family that you love them. Having unfortunately, as many, been in the situation of losing loved ones I know there is always the 'I wish I'd seen them more/spoke to them/spent time with them'. But, we are very lucky to of had these people in our lives.

Ronankfan - HAPPY BIRTHDAY. Home made cards, how lovely! I love receiving home made cards as I know it means people have been thinking about meNothing better!
This week I'm busy with work; NIreland tomorrow, Wales Thursday and then have to get to Tiverton for my uni course Thur evening, before going on to Plymouth! I've had to move away from home recently, but am determined to keep doing my part-time degree, even if that does mean travelling around the country like a loon
So, not much OS going on as I'm out and about so much. I think I need to take some inspiration from people on this board who have v. full lives and still manage to make an OS lunch for work. When I get a chance, must browse the boards for inspiration.
Have a good day all

ronankfan!!
Have a lovely evening, and enjoy your meal.
(((((hugs)))))) Westy, thoughts with you.
Just a very quick post, been pretty busy weekend and looks set to continue.
Trying hard to get on top of the house etc before I go on holiday next week, but so much to fit in.
Weather was very misty first thing, yes gold star time, I was at the gym at 7am:eek: , but the sun is coming through now, so laundry can go outside to dry. Hopefully it'll also warm up a bit, because I really must do some weeding, been talking about it for ages, but they're still in the ground and growing well!!:rotfl: Perhaps if I just refer to them as "native plants" I could get away with it? No? OH all right then!
Was given a huge bag of apples late yesterday, so will need to process some of them for the freezer. I've only got a small freezer section, so will probably just cook them down, ready for making into pies etc at a later date. That way they don't take up as much room.
Queenie, well done on the non-smoking front although i have to say that shocked the socks off me that anyone as OS and healthy eating as you would smoke in the first place:eek: :rotfl: I on the other hand am not very OS and only reasonably healthy eating!!:rotfl: I gave up 8 months ago and was told that your nicotine addiction will be almost non-existant now. It's the mental addiction you are now fighting. Of course many people use the patches etc for quite some time, but I didn't use anything and am convinced that's why I didn't suffer headaches and the like. My DH who gave up at the same time used the chewing gum for about 3 weeks and found that very helpful. He got some stomach upsets, but nothing too drastic. Just a thought, but you could consider the gum, that way you're only taking in nicotine occasionally, rather than all the time.
Well must get off here and go start something, else the morning will disappear just like this morning's mist!!

Morning all!
Westy - so sorry about your sister. My Dad died suddenly and very unexpectedly too 3 years ago, just collapsed and died while pruning roses and the shock was absolutely devastating as we had no clue what was about to happen so you and your family have my deepest sympathy. xxx
Snowy - hope the muffins come out lighter next time;)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY RONANKFAN !!!! HOPE YOU HAVE A LOVELY DAY!:bdaycake:Do what you love :happyhear0 -
RonanKfan - Happy birthday - enjoy your meal
Morning all
Absolutly no motivation here today at all - doesn't help that the builders are using a petrol powered tile cutter and it's making me feel quite ill with the fumes.
Washing's all up to date, only half a basket of ironing which I could do - should I get that bored. Bed's have all been aired and made, kitchen is tidy and washing up done and put away. Bathroom had a swipe yesterday so will do for today and DD's rooms are relativly tidy. Can't get to any craft stuff either which doesn't help.
Dinner tonight is veggi soup from the freezer with HM bread (will make that this afternoon) so I really do have nothing to do...I want to avoid going out though as I have no money to spend, I think I'll just have to go watch a dvd in DD's room.....
Much as I can't wait for the extra room this extension will bring......I WANT MY HOUSE BACK!!!!!

Morning everyone
Westy - sorry to hear about your sister (((((((((((((hugs))))))))) I can't begin to imagine how you are feeling xx
Well, yesterday was quite a productive day. Managed to clear the ironing mountain, changed the beds and cooked a lovely roast for dinner. Am at w**k until 5 today, but will be putting the WM on and descaling the kettle when I get home as I noticed it needs doing last night.
Breakfast - cereal & cranberry juice (not together!)
Lunch - chicken & stuffing/salad sandwiches
Dinner - sausage & chips for OH, cod & butter sauce, mash & veggies for me
The chicken, stuffing and mash are leftovers from yesterday so am well and truly making use of them. Hungry now though just thinking about yesterday's scrummy dinner!
Have a good day everyone xxIts nice to be important but more important to be nice!0
