Westy, so sorry to hear your news. Have never chatted to you before, but just wanted you to know that my thoughts are with you.

Queenie, so proud of you, you're doing so well :T That extra 12hrs you've accrued, hows about another trip to Stratford? :j:j:j

Kiwi, elona is correct, Head and Shoulders is well known for stripping out colour from hair. Best of luck. I know how it feels to be totally naffed off with your hair. I am normally gingery/blonde and last week thought I'd go dark brown for a change - it was awful , I felt so washed out and was slapping on the makeup with a trowel to try and disguise the 'transparent' look. In the end, I went back on Friday and had some red, copper and blonde highlights put through and I love it. :D Everyone at w**k commented today on how nice it looked. :o

PP, glad the hospital went well, and the indian at BILs was good - did you try the Shashlick? Do post a pic of your hair when you get it done.

Enjoy the rest of the evening all.
    Frizz :D

I only have ground nut oil, do you reckon that would be any good??

Why do you put oil on first?

    Thx,
    Al.

Sorry for late reply. Not sure but I had a dye disaster a couple of years ago - went for dark brown & came out black. Phoned the helpline number & thats what they told me - did fade it quite a lot so I could go out in public the next day not looking like Morticia.:rotfl:

Should think any oil would work.

    Hope it works for you!

I have just come off the phone from the water company re our massive bill we had at the weekend, it has taken me all day to get through to them....... after a rather heated conversation they have agreed to send someone out to check for underground leaks, they wanted us to do the tests ourselves, no way..... if they want someone to grovel on the floor in the dark to take a meter reading, turn the stop tap off in the house for 8 hours and then grovel to read the meter again, they can damn well do it themselves. The stop tap in the house is at the back of the cooker........ don't ask me why its there, but thats where it is, I guess at some time the sink has been moved along under the window, thats the only explanation I can think of.

We now wait for the meter man to come!!!

Went to Asda this afternoon was still feeling very bolshie spent £34, couldn't care less if I do go overdrawn..... its also cost me £30 to get my dental plate repaired, it broke last night, right now I feel like running up all the bills I can and going bankrupt, I am so fed up....we struggle to keep ourselves afloat, think we are getting there, and something else comes up and bites us, down we go again. Its very hard to be positive at times.............. right I'll get my coat...................
    Was 13st 8 lbs,Now 12st 11 Lost 10 1/4lbs since I started on my diet.

Hi All - hugs to everyone who needs them.

Well, I have had a busy old style day here today. LO's home all day and a freind over for lunch - tuna pasta (made last night)
Shepards pie (again made last night) for dinner.

I try and get things done the day before as the LO's tend to make cooking a bit trickey, but I have just cooked bread rolls (dough from the bread maker), and made fish cakes ready for tomorrow night.

The fish cakes are just tinned crab meat and mashed potatoe which I will fry up tomoorw - so hope they taste OK

Those should be amazing, I love crab/tinned crab!

I am sitting here twiddling my thumbs, OH left at 7 am for work this morning and is still not home, it is not his fault but it is absolutely ridiculous. I am sitting here watching Cirque du Celeb ( award for the most dire program ever?) with a gin and tonic and revised dinner of thai turkey green curry with tomaotes and courgettes (bizarre combination I know, guess who is trying to use up the fridge) bubbling away....

Rant over, have a good evening :)

I'm just curious, my friends all think it's ridiculous my dishwasher usually runs through at least two cycles a day, sometimes three or four. I think it's because I do a lot of cooking from scratch and I bake and make jams and things like that regularly.

    Am I abnormal????

Everyone asks me to make my mint digestive tray bakes when there's a coffee morning or if I offer to bring anything to a friends house.

I was just wondering what everyone has as their sort of signature dish.
