(((((HUGS)))) Westy so sorry to hear about your sad news!
We managed to get to Barts Hospital to visit our friend on Friday and parked just outside by the Smithfields market place. Thank you for all the advice on getting there. Couldn't have done it without the sat nav as we find driving through the city a nightmare. Worth it though to see friends face when we turned up with his teenage son in tow.
I am off to the dentist (a new one) in a couple of hours as the tooth that for the last few days was just a tad sensitive is now causing raging toothache! Never before have I looked forward to a pain killing injection! I am hoping to find out about the possibility of getting rid of the mercury fillings to see if my energy levels improve, has anyone else done this? I know it will eat into our savings so hope it will be worthwhile (will be if I can work again!)
Ol style if I can, later today I need to peel a bag of pickling onions and get them in a bowl of salt overnight - not looking forward to this but OH loves home made chilli pickled onions at Christmas.
Happy Birthday to Ronankfan! :bdaycake:

Morning All,
HUGS for WESTY, I hope you and your Mum manage to have a nice time together today.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to RONANKFAN.
Well, in trying to be money saving I have had some what of a disaster this weekend. Now, in the past I've dyed my own hair no probs. Have also gone down the salon route and LOVED that but is £££££££ so I decided to do my own again........................you know where this is going dont you??? All I will say is "picture NELSKI'S avatar and you're nearly there, only purple!" purple hair!!!!!!!I havent left the house and the sodding salon is closed till tomorrow. GGGGRRRRR.
Do you reckon I ought to try another dye tonight?? The one I tried was warm mahongany, should I try to put a dark brown on top?? Could it get any worse??? It was a semi perm and said it would last up to 24 washes, well I washed 17 times and then ran out of shampoo and its still purple. :rotfl:
So on that front, I've not taken either DD or DS to school or playgroup for fear of the laughter, my lovely neighbour took them for me. The house has been hoovered, 2 loads of washing done, DW almost full. Going to do some bread at some stage, got some lovely looking malted wholegrain bread flour last week that I've been wanting to try.
My other FANTASTIC neighbour laid the concrete base for my shed all by himself while I was out on Saturday and then refused any payment. I tried snealing it through his post flap thingy but he sent it back! Bless him. I think a "thankyou cake" is on the cards.
Righto, havent eaten yet so am off for some porridge and apple.
Love to all,
Al.

Try washing your hair in an anti dandruff shampoo - the thick blue stuff like Head and Shoulders - it really strips out the colour and then you need loads of conditioner."This site is addictive!"
Wooligan 2 squares for smoky - 3 squares for HTA
Preemie hats - 2.0 -
Oh Kiwichick:p
Try washing your hair in washing up liquid it should remove some of the colour:rolleyes: lather it up and leave for a few mins then rinse out, even head and shoulders removes colour if you have any of that?
I wouldnt dyhe it again at home you'll end up burning your scalp, wsait til the salon is open tomorrow:D0 -
Kiwi Sheep dip should do the trick.
Don't know if you are a fan of netball but the Aussie chicks just beat the pants of the Kiwi chicks over in Christchurch.
Saw it on the news, and thought *must tell Kiwi*.
Don't do anything to your hair, it might go green next. Wait for hairdresser. Just put large paper bag over head. :rotfl:
(((((hugs))))) to Westy. Have a lovely time with your Mum & give her a big hug.
Happy Birthday Ronankfan  Enjoy your day.
DGS starts daycare on Friday. I went and took him there today. He played around and loved it. :T He fell asleep on the way home for about 3/4hr which meant he wouldn't go down for his arv nap.He woke up at 5am chirping in his cot. Poppy grabbed him and he squeezed in between us and talked his little head off. I don't know where he get's that from.
Well off to have a surf and shower. Eating M&M peanuts. Mmmmm my favourite. DD bought some for me. Hope you all have a lovely day. ByeeeeDon't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia.0 -
Morning!
Sorry i didnt post yesterday, had a bit of a rush on in the morning as the topical fish shop gave the green light to sell the fish we have been after all week, and we had a mad dash over to make sure we got him (no reservations allowed apparently!). Anyway - noname (as in, we havent though of one yet!) is now currently in his tank swimming happily away. I made boyf a nice birthday dinner last night which we had on the new dining table, I finally managed to organise the lounge and put the table in its proper place!
Todays plans are fairly limited, we had intended to be out shopping today but boyf has taken to his bed saying that he thinks he's coming down with something and is shivering under duvet, blanket, and central heating blasting away. Im personally feeling fine - maybe it will hit me later (i bloody hope not!)
Ive just had a chat with my ma for half an hour planning a visit from them as my lil bro is auditioning in bristol in the new year and they plan to stay for a little while. This makes my 'dejunk loft and turn into sort of spare bedroom for the very few and far between guests' plan a lot more urgent. I had a look up there yesterday and i cant believe how much junk i seem to accumulate - and im sick of manufacturers/shops saying you have to return stuff in their original packaging! Who has space in their houses for all the boxes etc that they have bought over the years???!!!
SO - ive decided, pretty much the entire contents of the loft must be freecycled/recycled/charitably donated. Then I can get on with laying more floorboards up there to store the stuff I need to keep (like the :xmastree:), and then create a makeshift bedroom in the mainspace. I was going to have a shower shortly but as the loft is exceptionally messy i dont think ill bother as ill only get mucky again!
Right, off to the house/diy board - i need to know what kind of floorboarding i need to be able to store stuff in the loft and source some cheap office type boxes for my storage system!
Hope everyone is having a good day!

Morning everyone, (just about)
I'm having a good day as i actually didn't sleep too badly, and i had a good lay in. Woke at 7:30, and could of got up, but then had another couple of hours and felt super.
I was quite OS yesterday. I experimented and made a banana and walnut loaf in the BM. Unfortunately the stew i was going to make didn't work out as most of the veggies had gone off. It was a week and a half since i'd bought them. Unfortunately, it was 5 and the shop was shut when i discovered this.
Chicken fajhitas for dinner tonight using that kit that was a bagain in asda last month. I will just need to pop to the shops and get a few veggie bits to put in. I need to take some more of our sorted junk to the charity shop anyway, and it is next door to the supermarket. Well, i've a long list of jobs for today, so i had best start them now i'm fuelled for the morning.
westy hugs. I don't know what else to say. It sounds like you are a great comfort to your mum and grandma. Look after yourself.
ronankfan best wishes for your birthday
kiwichick Thank you once again for providing me with laughter in my life. It won't last long, and your neighbours sound absolutely lovely. :A
Hugs to everyone,

hiya jo!
we just boarded out our loft.....you can get ready cut and prepared loft board packs from B+Q suprisingly a lot cheaper than i was expecting, you get 3 of them in a pack which covers quite a large area.
if you are trying to do it free then ikea(bristol-eastville) give away wood for free!! basically they break yup any old furniture etc and put it in two collection points...just inside the large doors by the collection point bit and just outside by the exit in the car park....we did about 3/4 of our loft like this.you just need to know what is strong enough etc and ok for it.luckily my uncle used to be a builder so helped up get the wood.0 -
Westy - my thoughts are with you.
