Not unless he is in the main phase of ESA (ie after the first 13 weeks of being on ESA and after the Work Capability Assessment).

if he does get awarded the ESA at income related then he will get any payments backdated, - what I would suggest is print a copy from the direct gov website of any calls outs in your area that way when you speak to an advisor your not only have the dates but proof.

2 yrs ago i went from IS to ESA - had to claim back my office could only find 1 payment thou there had be 2 triggered. I was advised to print off for proof. x

This is prob down to the fact that only a few areas are being triggered in the far north

I rang Dwp today, as the temperature is forecast at -4 C and -3 C here, for the next 7 days. They didn't even know the cut off dates, until i told them. They were somewhat patronising, asking where i lived for it to be so cold. On reflection, they did come out with, 'oh well, it's well known it's winter 9 months of the year, and summer 3 months of the year, there.' Great. Maybe i should move? There have been so many occasions this winter when the cwp hasn't triggered because on the 7th day the temperature has frustratingly risen 1 degree above freezing.

I'm just hoping it's the trigger which activates the cwp, and not the whole 7 days which has to be inclusive in the cut off dates, as Dwp don't appear to know. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.

The downside is, you have to be freezing to death, first. Literally.

just checked, and mine still hasnt arrived. my next meter reading/bill is due 19th april.
i will be £142 in credit by then, but doubt that will cover the bill so they will probably increase my monthly payment.

The freezing weather is forecast to last for another month, so is the government going to step in and protect the more vulnerable members of soceity, on this one?

Dwp say it's nothing to do with them, it's the governments decision. Trips to mp's may be called for?

Ah, mp's live in toasty warm homes?

It's still -3 C here at the moment.
