  • Just checked my post code and I get one due between 1/11/12 and 14/1/13 - must be the snow that has fallen today. Wonder when it will arrive in bank.

The Department for Work and Pensions has been notified that there have been 1 periods of very cold weather in the WN8 postcode area between 1 November 2012 and the current date 15 January 2013.
If you qualify for payment and live in this postcode area you are due to receive 1 Cold Weather Payment (s).
Payments are not made immediately. You should receive the payment to your account within 14 working days of the very cold weather incident being identified.
If you have any other questions about Cold Weather Payments, including delays in receipt of payments, contact your pension centre or Jobcentre Plus.

Come on I want cold weather below zero for 3 months from December 10th till March 4th as I want £425 cold weather payment please!

    12 weeks x £25 = £300

I think the government should change from £25 to £50 instead. And below 5C will be better than below Zero. As 5C are cold enough for a cold weather payment.

That's really quite a vulgar post. The benefit is there to support those in need during times when you may need extra heat. You're just treating this as a money making oppurtunity, sparing no thought for those people that may freeze to death this winter.
