Hello, just wondering if you get winter weather payment if you are on widows pension? Thanks for any answers0
-
hi. I'd go on Department for Work and pensions website and chase that up as theres lots of info on there regarding who qualifies for winter fuel payments. It just depends on your age, other benefits you get etc but its well worth having a look. If your local council have a Welfare Rights section, it may be worth ringing them as they will know alot about that.0

Hi, sorry if this question has already been asked/answered by someone else. Is it possible to be classed as getting ESA that's both Contributions based and Income Related? The letter that was sent to me when I was put into the WRAG was unclear about this - it said something like "you are getting this amount based on your NI contributions and because of the level of your income" or something like that. I definitely get ESA(C) as I had paid tax for many years prior to claiming, but I had no savings left by the time I claimed so my income is zero and I'm quite scarily broke (ie overdrawn!) now.
If I am classed as getting a combination of both types of ESA, might I get cold weather payments? They'd help a lot right now, but if not, fair enough.
Thank you!0 -

I did a test the other week...put my heating on for an hour and it cost me 38p. Did the same thing a few days later when weather had got a lot colder and it cost me 67p for the hour! My provider was meant to be sending me an application form to fill in to have me put on a lower tariff due to me being on benefits, still havent got it and that was weeks and weeks ago.
Hi could I please ask who is your provider?I have never come across a provider who puts you on a lower tariff due to benefits,I was not aware of this, thank you for mentioning this, also what benefits do you need to be on?0 -
