wrong appealing esa will be the assesment rate you have to be getting esa ib at the main wrag /support rate to get cwps
If they get IR ESA there is other parts that it would qualify for a CWP. (highlighted in red for you.)

Income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)

If you are in receipt of Income-related ESA, you will usually receive Cold Weather Payments if you also have any of the following:
    • the support or work-related component of ESA
    • a severe or enhanced disability premium
    • a pensioner premium
    • a child who is disabled
    • Child Tax Credit that includes a disability or severe disability element
    • a child under five living with you

Really sorry for asking the same question. However a little confused.

At the Moment I am on Esa, and get a work related component. As i was placed in a work related activity group last year. I attended all The meetings with the advisor. It was around the same time the weather dropped last year and i received 5 cold weather Payments. Did i get them because i was attending the meetings? As i am not seeing no advisor now, but still receiving my work related component in total £91.40. - Will i receive a CWP this year?
1 Cold weather payment has been triggered in the YO1 area. I have storage heaters & N Power Now want £127.00 a month So i really could do with the extra.
    I am single
    No children
And just receive Esa. I think it's Income Based, iv gone through all my letter's and can't find anything of which say's Its either contribution based or Income based.
I'm guessing Income Based, as I am Only 20 and have been claiming for around 18 months.

All help and advice much appreciated.

  • With regards to Cold weather Payments is the temp requirements absolute or an average. For example Monday to Sunday the temp is 0 every day so we get payment. (Next example) Monday to Fri temp is 0 Sat +2 degrees Sunday -4 - Do we still get payment? - or more extreme example Mon - Fri -5 Sat +1 Sunday -5 will this trigger a payment?.

Also what day is the start day for the payments Nov 1st was Monday so is each Qualifying period starting on a Monday i.e 1st 8th, 15th, 22nd & 29th

nov 1st is when cold weather payments become payable and they end 31st march the following year so nov 1st will aways be the first date on the post code checker

Payments will be made when the average temperature for where you live is recorded as, or forecast to be, zero degrees Celsius or below over seven consecutive days.
