What do you actually want to do with the phone?
There is no point install apps for the sake of it. Afterall you don't install applications on your PC unless you need or plan to use them.0 -

Since getting my smartphone I am amazed at what it can do, that I would never have expected a mobile phone to be capable of. The Star Trek fan in me is buzzing in glee.
My point, I guess, is that people browsing this thread might not realise they want or need an app until they've discovered its existence. Personal example - I've just gotten an app that can tell me where the local bus stops are, and what buses leave from them, at what time, based on my GPS position (called "Catch That Bus"). Until now I'd have to leaf through timetables (if they were even accurate) or, if I'm stuck away from home, phone my mum and bother her to look them up. What a grand idea this app was. Saves tonnes of time.
I agree about not having phones cluttered with useless apps though... I've downloaded, tried, and uninstalled a lot of apps since getting the phone. So many music player apps to choose from, for example, I'm trying out two just now (MixZing and PowerAMP).0 -
Thanks Jenny that is exactly where I'm coming from. I know what I want my phone to do, I'm interested in things it is capable of that I may appreciate.
I didn't know you could use it as a kindle, and that bus app sounds brill. I don't get buses often but it means that I also don't have timetables or know when and where they go so it would be dead handy for the times I do want to use the bus.0 -
Could someone explain where the sd card is on the sanfransico. I would like to update to a 16gb, but can't find it on the phone. Keep the apps coming with an explanation of what they do, good thread for those new to smartphones thanks to all!Any posts by myself are my opinion ONLY. Inside, take off the back-cover and it's near the top-left.0 -
