Free and useful Android apps

I wonder why this thread is only for free apps, there are some useful apps that are only £1-3 and it is a shame they cannot be discussed here, because they are not free.
Well it's for free apps because this is a money saving site, but there's nothing to stop you from starting your own thread titled something like 'Cheap, but not free, Android apps'..myself I'm not interested in paying for any apps so I don't want to see this thread get hijacked with suggestions for pay ones, but other people would probably be glad of another thread for cheap ones.0 -
I have a HTC Desire and battery life has been a major problem for me - until I downloded APNdroid. It turns off 3g at a touch and my battery life has increased dramatically using this.0

First thing first I'm not really sure which sub forum to post this, so I'm sorry if this is the wrong sub forum
I'm interested to know if anyone else has switched from recording financial data on the computer to a smartphone.
I only started having a sense of where my money are going after I started using a personal finance app (EasyMoney) last year after I got my first android phone (Xperia X10i).
Personally I would have never downloaded such apps if it wasn't recommended by a friend of mine. I felt that having my finances on the phone is a little too, easily accessible. But I have come to realize that it is the accessibility that helped me actually have some savings for 6 consecutive months now. EasyMoney has been a real life saver for me.
I'll just mention a few key features (in case its spamming)
- The app has a widget, so it is really simple to input a transaction, even repeating ones
- It has a reminder, which basically send customizable due date notifications to remind you when bills are going to be due
- The budget planner show a health bar beneath each budget you set, when it turns yellow you know its time to slow down the spending
- The app offers reports such as monthly income, monthly expenses, monthly cash flow, expense by category (my favorite part of the app)
Is anyone else using a finance app too? Has it been useful? I would love to read about your experience so feel free to share them0
