    Hi Girls,

Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

I went out for dinner yesterday, made all the right choices, synned my mint sauce and even refused dessert. All good i thought....
Until I remembered that because the diet coke tastes like the pipes haven't been cleaned in the place we went to, I had a J2O.

Please can someone tell me how many syns I've had without even thinking of it?
I could kick myself!! I should have asked for sparkling water with lemon
  • depends on the flavour and the size but range between 5.5 and 7.5

    Ok
Friday went a bit haywire as I ended up at a party, had been good all day but then hit the buffet and it was mostly deep fried stuff like samosas and spring rolls

    Ho hum

    Today

Brekkie: banana, all bran (HEB) milk (HEA)

lunch yoghurt, sugar free jelly (?SYNS) banana + 2 slices brown bread (HEB)

    snacks yoghurt

    Tea???
dunno, don't fancy much, got a bad headache and feel a bit sicky :( will try to eat something later maybe
Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last

wow J2O's just aren't worth the syns.
It was the melon one I had in a standard sized bottle you get in a pub. Not sure on the size.

    Thanks for letting me know.

My version is to put veg in the bottom of a tin (sweetcorn, peppers, sometimes tinned asparagus, tomatoes etc), make up a pack of tomato and herb pasta and sauce, mix that with 3 eggs and 150g cottage cheese and pour it over the veg, then bung it in the oven. I have it for lunch pretty much every day, it's lovely!

How does the ham case work - do you just line the quiche dish with ham instead of pastry, or is it easier to make a frittata in the pan and use a few new pototaes to fill it? I'm fed up of pasta bake for work lunch so am going to one or the other for Mon and Tues lunch - at a conference on wed so will be high in syns, off work thurs so will try and find a local WI and then am off on hol Fri where syns will be a thing of another life for a week!
Mama read so much about the dangers of drinking alcohol and eating chocolate that she immediately gave up reading.

Evening all, I hope you're all having good weekends.

I've been a busy bee today, doing some jobs around the house, and then spent the whole afternoon sorting out a very large shed (my friend calls it a chalet) at the bottom of the garden, so that involved lifting, tidying, up step ladders, packing, more lifting, etc. Spent 4 hours out there in the end. All helps with keeping moving, and using energy.

    Food today:

    B - porridge (HEB) banana
    L - 2 eggs, 3 x bacon, beans, mushroom, tomato
D - pasta & chicken with chopped tomatoes, WW parmesan & pesto sauce [3 syns], sprinkle of parmesan [1 syn], mixed salad
250ml milk (HEA) for several cups of tea & porridge

Not had any snacks today, but may have a kit kat with my last cuppa in a while.

Kaydn - I put the figures into the Syn calculator, and the Risotto comes out at 4.5 syns per 100g

I've put the values for lean minced beef (rather than the extra lean), for a comparison, and to calculate a syn value. It comes out at 3 syns per 100g. I know my local Sainsburys often sells out of the packs of extra lean, so I'm going to have to bear this in mind. The fat in lean is 11.8 as opposed to 4.5 in the extra lean, and the protein is 19.1 rather than 20.5, calories are 183 rather than 132. You can see why you have to syn it, when you take that all into account.
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Grrrrrr, why am I such an emotional eater:(

I had a row with dh which resulted in me scoffing, a kitkat, 3 digestive biscuits and a piece of white toast with butter dripping off it, then thought oh now i've boogered up the day...and promptly ate 2 more digestives:( I feel bloated, fat, and a little bit sick! I had done so well all day too.....

Had the Beef Stifado for dinner tonight and it was really nice, the kids loved it too and even ds3 ate most of it (although he isn't keen on meat, so the beef was mostly left!!)

That is another for the repeat pile:D

    xx
