Ah well, I didn't expect you to have it morning, noon and night, followed by mushy pea curry :eek:

I rang the Met Office this morning to apologise on your behalf and it seems they've been reading the thread and already knew where the blame lies. You'll have noticed the worst of the gales have been in the Yorkshire area :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

LMAO :D:D The Irony Is my local news reported that the highest wind speeds recorded last night in yorkshire are exactly where I live :rotfl::rotfl:
  • you lot do make me laugh! I do want to echo what's been said to Cat - you should never feel hungry! One of our lovely slender target members says her technique is to gobble something down BEFORE she begins to feel hungry!

Re whoever asked for a curry recipe back there somewhere, why not make the mushy pea curry (which is basically just a sauce) and add the chicken or whatever to it? :)If you google mushy pea curry it will turn up.

I might as well confess that I didn't take lunch into work today - instead I bought the canteen's battered fish and chips. And I might as well also confess that I ate the batter, every bit:eek:. I did leave the scrunchy thin chips but I ate the others. It's a once in a six-months thing so I refuse to feel bad about it, and I enjoyed it and followed it with a big bowl of mixed melon for my superfree. But I could definitely feel the fat in my mouth during the afternoon, so that'll put me off doing it again for a while :) I've got some cauliflower soup half made now but might live on fruit this evening and blend the soup tomorrow, the thought of washing the blender after blending is putting me off!:o:o
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

Good evening all just had to pop on to say :-
    :dance::drool::dance::drool::dance::drool::dance:
ohh my, ohh my I do believe I have found THE nicest burger recipe in the history of burgers ..... doesn't quite cover it - I have tried allsorts of twists and have finally found this one - I got the basic idea from a mag -but as usuall I have "tweaked" it ;)...
So here it is,, and I know some of the ingredients might sound a bit odd -but trust me -NOMNOMNOM :p

    Ox burger

    makes 6X100g burgers
    • 500g extra lean minced steak
    • 1 onion - finely chopped
    • 1tbs capers - well chopped
    • gherkin -finely chopped - (about 1tbs once chopped)
    • 1tsp wholegrain mustard (0.5)
    • 1tsp worcestershire sauce.
    • 2tbs fat free natural yoghurt
    1. Squish everything together with your hands and chill for about 1hr
    2. break of 100g pieces and shape into patties (I have a burger press :p)
    3. place back in the fridge until required
    4. heat a non-stick frying pan and cook drop them in and let them seal before turning over and cooking the other side -I cooked them on a fairly high heat to stop them losing all their juices ;)
We had 2 each with some home made wedges and the leonslaw (which was also gorgeous -so I will post that recipe in a moment too) and the burgers are seriously savoury and juicy. We are going to have the other 2 with more leonslaw tomorrow as a light lunch :D.... I have never been a readymade burger fan -but blinkin eck ..... I could become addicted to these :j

Righty-ho then the Leonslaw, Is a lovely winter coleslaw thingy.... and is:-

    Leonslaw:-
    • 1 raw beetroot -peeled n grated
    • 1 large carrot -grated
    • 1/4 small celeriac -peeled n grated
    • 1/4 small cabbage -finely shredded
    • 1/4 red cabbage -finely shredded
    • 2 sticks celery -finely sliced
    • approx 30g pickled gherkin -roughly chopped
    dressing :-
    • 2tsp cumin seeds -toasted
    • 1/2 tbs white wine vinegar
    • 2tsp extra virgin olive oil (4)
    1. mix all the veggies together
    2. mix the dressing ingredients together
    3. then mix all together -tada :rotfl:
I was suprised by how tasty this is - and I reckon it will be better when it has stood over night and had time to "give" ... on tasting it-my first thought was *falafel* -it must be the cumin seeds....
I hope you all like it as it is a serious hit of goodness in this cr*ppy weather when salad stuff tastes of nothing ;)
right I will get off again....sleep well all :D

i've discovered these recently too, they are yummy :)
  • Wow, I have really been tucking into some food today! Been mega hungry and mege munchy, so my day's eating looks like:

    b) leftover vege chilli (just cos, alright!?)
    l) 4 x mini corn on the cob with 2 x hea cheese and 2 syns of sweet chilli sauce
    snack: hi fi
    t) dyno soup - found some in the freezer - hurrah!
2nd tea: a few potato wedges and spag carbonara (8)
snack: mullerlight with tsp honey (1)
3rd tea: JP & tuna mayo (tuna heb and mayo 3)
4th tea!!! Pasta & salsa & small amount of cheese (3)

That looks like I'm still inside syns but I'm not 100% sure about the carbonara. A lot of grease came out of it, but then again hopefully that was most of the grease!

I mean, 4 dinners for goodness sake!! And I could still eat more now!

*need to shop tomorrow, as no food left in the house!
Nothing tastes as good as riding a horse feels
