My mum lost 4 stone about 10 years ago with SW but since then has piled it all back on. Now she is being told she has to lose weight by her doctor but she is so depressed about it that she keeps cheating all the time, even though I keep reminding her not to. I know she liked the group meetings etc so I was going to try and buy it for her as a Christmas present. If not I guess I can just give her the cash to pay each week for say 6 months?
As someone else has said, you can buy a 10 week countdown and get 2 extra free weeks (12 weeks in all). That would cost you £49.50 at the present rate, so the year would cost around £200.I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

In the event, I turned up and sat there in the freezing cold (the heating was off for the holidays as no-one else was using the rooms) for 2 hours and 2 members turned up.....I was not happy :rotfl:
Thanks thats useful to know. Shame I wont get to the Dec 23rd meeting at my club as I'm going for a Christmas meal with friends. Be useful to go between Christmas and the New Year to keep on track. I might go to the daytime class in the next town - as I don't ever want to miss a weight in unless on holiday - keeps me well on plan/track:)
Hope members do turn up over Christmas!Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

I've been shopping again today to top up on mullers, and have got some twin kitkats to have as a treat in the evening with a cuppa, if I fancy them. I don't want to undermine my week by not having the syns. When I mentioned it to my BF he couldn't understand how it could be a problem if I wasn't hungry, and would be eating for eating sake... can anyone explain it to me?
The idea of syns is that you don't feel you're on a diet. Naturally slim people don't go without treats, and neither should you or you will begin to feel deprived.
It may be easier for you if you count them weekly.....allow yourself 70 a week and knock them off as you go. Then if you want to do without from Monday to Friday but have a meal out over the weekend complete with pudding and a couple of glasses of wine, you won't need to worryI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Hmm, I knew a man who swore he was only a 32" waist but you should have seen the overhang :rotfl::rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -

Just wondering if your Mum's GP surgery is one of the ones that offers the 12 week Slimming world vouchers? If they did then you could maybe get her some of the nice cookery books. If not you could get her several of the Countdowns over 6 months. Sounds a very nice present as your Mum can go to the meetings she likes and hopefully lose the weight she wants to lose.Sealed Pot Challenge number 8 Amount declared £365.50.

Ah well, I didn't expect you to have it morning, noon and night, followed by mushy pea curry :eek:
I rang the Met Office this morning to apologise on your behalf and it seems they've been reading the thread and already knew where the blame lies. You'll have noticed the worst of the gales have been in the Yorkshire area :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:I let my mind wander and it never came back!0
