Whoahhhh stroppy :rotfl: Only quoting what our consultant told us at group when a member was mashing bananas to put on scanbran......you break down the bulk of the fruit-thereby making it easier to consume- therefore they say it becomes syns. Im sure consultant31 will be along at some point to clarify tho ;)

Hey Dizzyk, sorry if it came out wrong :o. It wasn't meant to be stroppy, more utter disbelief and a fair dollop of gobsmacked ;)

Well the boiler guy came out to check my boiler and it wasnt good news. Well everything in our house has broken so i should of expected it really. Anyways i was led to believe my boiler was 8yrs old and when guy checked serial no's its actually 18yrs old, coz of this replacement parts are really expensive and he said not to spend good money on it and get a new mouch more efficient one. Quote is £1800:(, no way we can afford it yet so he recommended us to try applying for warm front grant. Anyone know anyone who's been successful in getting one of these. Mind i've been told they take up to 6months to fit new boilers due to demand.

Yes, my parents got one several years ago, but if you are given the grant do watch the men like a hawk or you'll end up with a botch-job!

They wanted to put Mum a pipe down the wall in the lounge to connect everything - their answer to Mum's horrified gaze was "it won't show cos the curtains will cover it"

There has been an enormous thread on these forums somewhere about all the pitfalls....have a search for it.

Hope everything turns out ok - it's the wrong time of the year for the boiler to conk out, though it seems to be about normal, ours went on Christmas Eve three years ago when everybody was shut down till about the 6th January, it was awful

Wonder of anyone on here knows about SW meetings and Christmas - as I'm wondering does SW have a Christmas break? Or do meetings carry on all year round?

I will ask my consultant tomorrow but just arranging a Xmas meal with friends the Thu before Xmas and thats my meeting night - be a shame to miss the Christmas one.

I imagine SW staff need a holiday/break so maybe there will be 2 weeks off over Christmas?

Slimming World expect Consultants to run a group 52 weeks of the year. If weigh-in falls on Christmas Day as it did for me a couple of years ago, we had a quick poll in group to find out which other night would suit most members.

In the event, I turned up and sat there in the freezing cold (the heating was off for the holidays as no-one else was using the rooms) for 2 hours and 2 members turned up.....I was not happy :rotfl:
