    Hi Trixie

Yep am getting all excited now,6th December!! 4 weeks of sunshine :j
It wont be long til you're setting off there either will it?......but Im running out of time to lose the excess baggage :o I had hoped to be more around the 3 stone loss when we went too, but the way its panned out with me not being mobile etc my weight loss this time around (last time I was swimming 50 lengths 4-5 days a week) is only around a 1lb a week with the odd gain due to my misbehaving stomach issues

But hey ho I can still hopefully get my 2 stone award in time for when we go.....and people are starting to notice just this last week and comment Im looking a lot better which is always a great morale booster :) And Ive been and bought some winter stuff a couple of sizes smaller :jx

  • Morning!

Does anybody else take their body measurements? I've just done mine for the first time but don't know when I should do them again. Should I do them next week or do you think I should just do it monthly? Sometimes I feel thinner but haven't lost

It takes a while to get your head round SW which is why they encourage you to fill in a food diary for four weeks to give to your Consultant who will check it for you. Once you've got your head round it - it's IMO a very flexible way to lose weight and will soon become second nature.

This thread is incredibly supportive and if you don't understand anything; then just post what you don't understand and we'll do our very best to help you.

Go for it - you won't regret it!:D

I have re-joined SW this week and am determined to do the Extra Easy plan because I hear such good things about it. I tried it myself a month or so ago and lost a couple of pounds but put it on the very next week.

    However, onwards and upwards!:D

I would like to lose a stone before Xmas if possible, then I will start the New Year and aim to lose some more.

I definitely think some weeks you lose inches instead of pounds and our consultant at group has confirmed that this is true.

I haven't taken my body measurements - altho wish I had!
  • Oh I know what I forgot to ask!

I have half a large pot of ff plain yogurt that needs eating up. Does anyone have any nice vegetarian (no eggs but I do eat cheese) savory recipies which will use up the yogurt?

    Hello all,
I did SW years ago, and want to start using it again, but I've forgotten most of the 'rules', and have lost my books. I definitely cannot afford to join a group, and the online one is out of my price range at the moment too. I have found starter packs on ebay that I can get for under £15 (maybe less if I win an auction), and they include the following books: 7 days to success, food optimising, body magic, & choose success. Would those books be enough for me to be able to get started, and learn the principles of what's allowed/free/syns, etc?

I've been struggling all year with calorie-counting, and am finding my appetite is what is undermining my efforts, so SW seems to be the obvious answer to me. I've been trying to find somewhere online that would give me a starting point. I have found a basic 7 day plan on the SW site, so can use that. Is there an old SW thread on here where the basics may be? I regularly contribute on another MSE weightloss thread, so know already how supportive, wise and marvellous this community here can be, so I'll say thank you in advance for any help.

I'm actually feeling quite excited at the prospect of getting started, and plan to impose it on the whole family, so I cannot be undermined in any way. I've already got good tips to make a soup from this thread, so am going off to make one of those now!
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home
  • morning all!!

Urgh.. i am feeling soooooooooo rough today :( i've been feeling a bit off colour for the last 2 weeks - time for another visit to the doc methinks!!

    Today's food!

B - 28g Fruit and fibre (+1 w/g CB - HEB) with vanilla onken, banana, 1 tsp of nutella on CB (1.5syns) Cup of tea (dash milk 0.5syns) followed by a satsuma

L - Cheese (hea) and bacon omelette followed by some beetroot salad (0.5) an apple and orange (gotta love the vitamin C!)

D - Thai Green chicken Curry - recipe in World of Flavours but i'm using shop bought paste (which will make it 4.5 syns per portion) with boiled rice. Gonna add baby corn, mangetout, mushrooms and peppers to make up 1/3 superfree :)

Thats 7 syns so far. For snacks i was gonna have some velvet crunch crisps for 4 syns which would take me up to 11 for the day :)

As i'm resting at home today i think i am gonna go on a recipe hunt for next weeks meal plan :)

Did anyone watch Nigel Slater's Simple Suppers last night? The squash and turkey cottage pie he made could be free on SW if we omit the flour and wine and add stock instead :D
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

    new beginnings...... new successes..
