Happy New Year everyone, hope you aren't too hungover. Decided I would go to bed and sleep through it, but got woken up by all the fireworks. It's the one time of year when I don't mind at all being disturbed - most of the time I can sleep for England.

Have no idea yet what food to do for today, but have just put some more D/R soup on, this time in the slow cooker. See how it turns out.

I am starting this year feeling good about myself, the last two years have been bad, but making a decision to do something positive for myself makes me feel so much more hopeful for the future. I've not been well for what feels like ages, but at last we seem to be getting the meds sorted, which helps.

So to everyone who understands how that feels, the bad bits as well as the good, every best wish for the year ahead.

You lot out there are very special, every one of you.:T:T:T

So I'm looking at a day firmly ON PLAN today :)

B: fry up the SW way :T
L: HM soup (Potato, leek & carrot)
D: Roast chicken, braised red cabbage, carrots, parsnips, potatoes and gravy.

Please - has anyone any idea as to the syns of roast potatoes done in goose fat
Edited to add: oat cakes (b), chocolate (2.5), apple. Revising is hungry work! :D

Syns and healthy extras will be added in later, but I'll make it an EE day today. I rather fancy a glass of milk, so might have that as my healthy A.

Good for you pollysg - hope you have your best year ever!
Happy New Year everyone! We stayed at home and welcomed in the New Year quietly! Even the celebrations outside were quieter with fewer fireworks but a sky full of Chinese Lanterns - absolutely beautiful! I came across these New Year Resolutions and thought I would share them!

    1. Respect others, even when they don’t respect you.
    2. Love with your whole heart.
    3. Treat everyone with kindness.
    4. Be honest with the people you love.
    5. Admit your mistakes, it shows you’re human.
    6. Learn from your mistakes, but don’t dwell on them.
    7. Tell your family often that you love them.
    8. Never tell others that their dreams are stupid.
    9. Realise that the only person you can change is you.
    10. Be thankful for everything.

Now - if only I could stick to them for longer than 5 minutes!!:(

Sainsbury's Taste the Difference, Roast Potatoes with Goose Fat, 800g pack, chilled, 100g 1½ syns
Tesco Finest, Goose Fat, 1 level tbsp 6½ syns
Tesco Finest, Goose Fat, 28g 12½ syns
Sounds bad at first but don't forget you'll not eat the whole tray of roasties yourself and they are yummy!:o

    Happy new year everyone
Well it was my frist year in 9 years that I didn't go to bed by 10pm. Friend come round with her DH and DD. They bought the nibbles crisps, choc, cake, biscuits. I was very good only had 2 handfulls of crisps and low cal drink. So proud that I didn't pig out. Even my DH said I did myself proud:T. I think I didn't want to fall off the wagon on the second day.
    Can you carry over syns?

    HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

Hope you all have a good, slimmer 2011!!!

We went to a lovely party at some friends' house, I helped make the food for the buffet and it was mostly SW friendly.....until the pudding which was melting middle choc puds with bailey's extra thick cream!!! Was very nice though!! I did have 3 or 4 rather large glasses of wine too!!

Today we are eating the last of the bad stuff but with some good stuff thrown in too! I'll try to give OH more of the bad bits and have more of the healthy stuff myself. I think red is probably the way to go so I can have 2 HEAs.

Brunch - bacon and mushroom buttie (HEB)
Tea - cheese (1.5HEA), pork pie (oops!!), Crackers (more oops!!), HM salsa, HM coleslaw (a little bit oops!), Spicy chicken drumsticks, HM bread (oops again!!)

I WILL NOT eat any choccy or crisps and I'll be back on plan properly tomorrow, got parents coming round but the main course will be SW friendly and will have a small portion of crumble and custard for pud which will be within my syns!

Hi, I've not been on here for a very long time, just wondered if anybody can tell me if I can `carry` my leftover milk and add it to tomorrow`s milk ?

Hope you all have a great new year
  • Hello everyone! HAPPY NEW YEAR!! _party_ I hope everyone had a great christmas!

I haven't been here for quite a while. Its been a combination of being ill, personal "issues", lack of motivation, my birthday, christmas.. etc.. I haven't been following SW in its entirety since November and naturally have gained 10lbs in the meantime (according to my home scales which aren't accurate but a guide at least!)

So as from monday i am going back on plan! I'll be honest i'm still struggling for motivation but as spring isn't too far off i'm hoping i'll be back in the swing of things soon! Its very hard when you are still surrounded by sweets and stuff!!

To prevent me caving am allowing half my daily syns on some of those pesky naughties that are still in the house. I plan to put my allowance of sweets into little bags and once a bag (which will only contain something like 3 sweets!) has been eaten that means to more choc until the next day!

Thankfully for me my brother goes back to uni 2mro and will be taking 80% of the food with him... even if i have to sneak it into his bags!!

New Years resolution number 1 - post on this forum everyday where i can :) even if i am failing miserably!! :o

Here's to a successful and slimmer 2011!
All hail to the sale!!!!!!

    new beginnings...... new successes..

Morning all, had a great evening round a friends, three course meal which was all off plan and loads of champagne but not going to worry about it as it was one night and we all enjoyed it.
I am getting married in August this year and have half a stone more to lose to get to where I want to be and am determined to lose it within next few months.
    Happy New Year to everyone!
