Sarymclary - Excellent and very, very insightful post, thank you xx

Mrs M - I honestly wish I could afford the amount of fruit and veg that you get through each day. I love veg and salad but can only buy a very limited amount each week.

I am on my last day of being a festive piggy today. We are having Chicken Fajitas tonight and then playing Cluedo and watching a film with Doritos and Peanuts, we also have a couple bottle of wine and malibu and beer if we run out of wine haha x I will weigh myself tomorrow and get stuck straight in to SW..

I would love to join a group, but it isn't really feasible with the two little ones.

Do any of you think it would be beneficial joining online...what extra support or motivation would it give me?

    Mel x

I've been out doing a couple of jobs this morning so a gentle 45 minute wander round, not really anything special. Might get on the wii fit again, but I managed to aggravate my knee injury on there the other day.

    Lunch
    2x Joes Sausages
    Bacon
    Mushrooms
    Broccoli
    Carrots

    Dinner
    Turkey
    Carrots
    Broccoli
    Cabbage
Roast Potatoes (dry roasted with fry light)
    Gravy (2 syns)

    Snacks
    Orange Juice (2 syns)
    Weetabix Oaty Bar (HEB)

I'll be having a small bucks fizz (200ml) this evening, so another 7 syns there.

So I have 4 syns and a HEA to play with today. Might push the boat out and have a lindt lindor for my 4 syns.

    Evening all

Hi RedMel... I know I get through lots of fruit n veg :o-but Im lucky as I will eat any (apart from fennel ) -so buying what is on offer means I can afford to eat plenty. I have said to hubby quite a few time that I could shrink our shopping costs if I cut back on my fruit in particular -but as he pointed out, eating that stops me from feeling Im missing out and sending me straight for a choc bar (36 weeks in and apart from fibre plus bars -Im a chocolate free zone :p), also because I love veg so much I eat a smaller portion of meat than I would otherwise.
Also I think that Im luck being out here as there basic fruit n veg is often very good prices -my fresh apricots were 69g for 500g ...oohh and I also grab whoopsies when I see them ;)

Im still using SW on-line, but now I have my head in the right place and know most of what I need of by heart I don't think I will extend my membership when it runs out in March (I think). Between here and minimins I know I will be able to keep on track *pinkies crossed*
Anyway -enough from me -Im off to make a marinade for the stir-fry...
have a lovely evening all and keep at it..we are getting there :T

  • Well my plans for tonight have now changed cos all my friends have flu :( so instead of going to the pub and drinking my body weight in wine, I shall be staying in tonight. I'm not too bothered though. I will have a few more than 15syns as I fancy something nice for tea - either a pizza (base will be synned) or fajitas.

I got some of the M&S Count on Us choc mouses 4packs reduced to 75p this afternoon which was good, they are so yummy.

I probably won't bother posting my meal plan today as I've only has eggs on toast so far!

Have a fab New Year's Eve all, and hears to a slimmer 2011 :)

I'm trying to figure out what to have for dinner later today. I've not quite decided yet. I'd considered having pasta with a dolmio sauce, until I just saw that a small jar 350g is 16.5 syns! How mad is that? No wonder I usually make my own, but it's a favourite flavour of one of my sons, which is why I bought it. Looks like the children will be having that then.

A friend has left with me a gorgeous ham on the bone, that I had for lunch, but might have some with eggs for tea too. I just don't fancy having salad again. Hmmm.

    Food today: EE

    B - porridge & banana
L - ham, lettuce, cucmber, tomato
D - ham omlette with SW chips, mushrooms, onions, tomatoes
Snacks - 2 x alpen bars (totally forgot I'd had porridge for b/fast)

Really wish I'd thought that out a bit better to be honest. I usually know at the start of each day what I'm having, but seem to have totally forgotten to get my head in gear today.

Happy New Year everyone! We're spending the evening at home, as usual. I can't promise to still be awake at the stroke of midnight, and if I'm not, can anyone letting off fireworks make them silent ones please?
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

Totally agree trixietoes, I'm 5' 9ish and just over your weight. I was 13 stone+ when I started and although I know I look slimmer, I'm still definitely a Size 16. I recall in the dim and distant past I needed to be under 10 stone to comfortably wear a 12. I'm always amazed by the 'before and after' stories in magazines (SW included) when people say things like I'm 11 stone, 5 foot 3 and a size 12!! I've always scoffed at them (although I love reading them too:D).

Ahh but I'm 3 inches shorter than you and weigh 14 stone and I'm between a 14-16 except in H&M where I'm a size 20 in a dress  go figure.

I think it makes a real difference if you exercise a lot because then a lot of the weight is muscle which takes up less room than fat weight for weight. I go to the gym three times a week and do at least one one Spin class a week which really makes a difference, now i don't go around telling people I weigh 14 stone but I don't think one person would believe me. Just starting out on Slimming World so hopefuly that 14 stone will never haunt me again.

I'll second that, I make a point of going to bed early enough that I'm not awake at midnight but always get woken up by the fireworks, its so annoying, never had fireworks on NYE in my day :D I don't know what hte obsession with them is.

  • Well have been off plan for the last week and tomorrow morning will find out what damage I have done!! I am a bit scared but how bad can it be?? Today will be my last day off plan so hopefully should lose anything I have put on over the next two weeks.

The only thing I don't agree with as far as SW goes is that if I get pregnant and am at target then as soon as I go above my 3lb then they would make me pay again. That's the kind of thing that will stop me weighing. At least I think that's right, correct me if I'm wrong :)

It would stop me getting pregnant! :rotfl:

.... for the next 5 months. I was a size 14 by the following summer, got my 1st boyfriend, and went...

Sorry Sary, I misread that as "got my one stone boyfriend" good post though!

I've just made and enjoyed a home made version of chicken and salad in a (co-op wholemeal) pitta, it was FABULOUS! Might make another and syn the pitta as my planned NY Eve in with friend has been bu**ered dammit. Off to the pub to wish people HNY first, then I shall back :D
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!
