Sprouts...............food of the devil, in my opinion;):p

I've not been on for a couple of days, I have poorly babies, they have been terribly draining!! To cheer me up dh decided to surprise me with some flowers and a box of chocs!! I worked out the syn value of the cocs to be about 100 for the whole box!!! Good job I shared them with dh and the 3 boys;) Anyway to compensate for what I did eat of them I am having barely any syns for the rest of the week:cool:

I don't know if any of you watch cook yourself thin, it is actually really good.... It is quite close to the principles of slimming world, in that she basically cuts right back on oils/fats removes skin/fat from meat and subs 0 fat yog/from frais in recipes!!!

I had (from the show) the garlic mushrooms on toast this morning, I slightly adapted it, in that I only used 1 tsp of olive oil and had it on a pitta cut in half...that made it a HEb and 1syn (made it for me and dh) It was fab, I would definitely do it again, so quick to make and so tasty..

I have got leek and potato soup for lunch....delia recipe (adapted;))
Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.

:j :j Congratulations joedenise, thank you for sharing your fab news with us! :T :T

I have to admit I'm not a great sprouts fan, but I do like cabbage, much to my OH's dismay. When he sees it going on the plates he groans, but I make him eat it anyway, and just tell him it's good for him.

Remember me saying I was going to make some apple pies the other day? Well it ended up being a whole day of baking, because I c0cked up on my initial quantities when making the pastry, and as a means of trouble-shooting potential disaster, I decided to just up the quantities of all other ingredients.... then ended up with about 4kg of pastry! We now have 3 dozen mince pies, 3 dozen individual apple pies, 2 turnovers, and 2 family sized apple pies! Thank goodness there was room in the freezer, but the temptation to have a pie has definitely undermined me the past couple of days. I've worked them into my syns, but being homemade, there's no telling whether I'm counting the correct amount. I'm going for about 9.5 syns, does that sound about right?

I've not posted meal plans for the past day or so, so here they are:

    Yesterday:
B - Porridge [HEB], banana, strawberries
L - Bacon, eggs, beans, tomato
D - Eat Smart Sausages x 3 (1.5 syns), mash, carrots, peas, gravy (2 syns)
Snack - apple pie! (9.5 syns)
    Milk [HEA]

    Today's plan is:
    B - Muller, banana
Snack - lamb hotpot that's cooking!
L - Bacon, egg, tomato, spag. hoops
D - lamb hotpot (if I don't eat it all first!) (2 syns for gravy)
    Milk - [HEA]
    Kellogs Fibre + bar [HEB]
I may have another apple pie later... so another (9.5 syns) potentially! I'm so glad I froze the rest!

Crikey it's soooo cold here today. We may not have got the snow, but it's still very icy here.

I reckon you're not that far away from me, if you're in Lincolnshire, and near Lincoln. I'm not sure how near Lincoln you are, but Nottingham can be a good bet for shopping, and it's not likely to have snow there, and easy to get to down the A46. Nice if you fancy a change of scene for shopping. Otherwise there's Meadowhall in Sheffield too.

I'm off to put the heating on now, as I'm struggling to feel my toes they're so cold!
One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing

  • Hi all :D

Sorry I've not been around much lately but felt the need to drop in and wish Dizzy a fab holiday - not long now - and to congratulate all the people who try so hard (whether you're getting the losses or not, you still deserve a pat on the back), but specially MrsM wth your great losses and inspirational recipes (by the way, your dress is just gorgeous).

Impossible to go back through all the posts I've missed cos you don't half go on lol, but I'm hoping to have more time to read and ost after the hols. At the moment my DDs need me, Mum's not too well and Christmas is looming............I just wish I could split myself into 3 and then there'd be plenty to go round.

Happy Christmas to everyone, keep plugging away, try to stay on plan as much as possible, but don't stress too much if you can't, there's always another day :A

I let my mind wander and it never came back!
  • Hello all, well I am quite pleased that I ate at pizza Hut last night with friends and managed minimum syns, ie for a starter I had the Romano peppers stuffed with rice and topped with spicy breadcrumbs, so I counted 2 syns for the breadcrumbs (they weren't needed in any case) then pasta with arabiata sauce so even if I assume there's a bit of oil in the sauce, and it didn't taste or look oily actually, it's still only a few! And it wasn't bad, except the pasta was overcooked and was strange tubelike stuff :o and they didn't offer any parmesan but thts probably a good thing!

Those who have lost half a pound: look at what's on my scales <<<< there: that's half a pound of fat. Rejoice. It's a handful gone.

I have to go back and grab a quote, seem to have missed it.
    :jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j

    thank you Slimming World!

the mushroom thing sounds good, I'll check out 4OD and see if I can find it. Better put a space or a dash in there, it looks like a bra size. 4 -OD
