Oh my days, the chat on this thread is priceless sometimes!
Re. saggy skin, isn't it just great to be having this dilemma? Rather than worrying about getting stuck in a seat, or your largest size jeans not fitting you? The older we get, the simple fact is that our skin will not shrink back as quickly (or as much) as a much younger person. The consultant who is standing in at my group has lost over 12 stone, and 5 years after reaching target she got a tummy tuck on the NHS (11lb of loose skin). She is going to get her thighs 'done' at the beginning of December, but it's costing her £11,000 to get it done. It is about her feeling better about herself, not what anyone else thinks about her, and that is what is most important.
As much as we have to get used to accepting that the slimmer person in the mirror is actually us, so our OH's also have to get used to feeling a much smaller person lying beside them. That includes learning to feel the new lumps and bumps that exist aren't going to be soft, squigy fat! I don't think many men are known for engaging their brains before they speak - mine in particular could win a gold medal for tactless qualities - but what they say, isn't necessarily meant in the way our sensitive souls take the comments. My OH only wants me to lose a stone.... my first personal target is for 3. He has always liked a lady with a bit more meat on her, but I don't like me with so much meat, in fact, I didn't really like myself that much when we met 8 years ago, and I was carrying about 2.5 stone less meat. What I'm aiming for is a size I am happy with, he'll just have to fit in with that, and because he loves me, he will I'm sure.
So, today is still EE. First weigh-in after my 1st proper week on the plan, so I'm really hoping it's shifted something. I hardly dare peek at the scales at home, in case they are very different from class. The fact that it's at 6pm (usual dinner time) doesn't help. I think I'll have a particularly light day tomorrow to help reduce any bulk, and will step on my scales at home after class to compare any difference.
Food today is:
B - Muller, mixed red berries, fresh strawberries, banana
L - 2 eggs, 1 bacon slice, beans, 2 slices W/meal toast [HEB] but they were 800g slices so I'll say (4 syns too), light butter (1.5 syns)
D - Roast chicken, cabbage, carrots, peas, potatoes, yorkshire puds x 2 (6), gravy (2 syns)
Off into the kitchen now to get cracking. One day the clocks will stop, and time won't mean a thing
Be nice to your children, they'll choose your care home0 -
thanks DizzyK
well I have been for a walk and now I'm shattered! off for a lie down to recover!!Go hopefully into each new day, enjoy something from every day no matter how small, you never know when it will be your last0 -
Hi everyone,
I am going out for lunch today :j . I've had a really good week and stuck to plan, and although I wanna enjoy lunch, I don't want to blow it! Luckily, I know where I am going so have looked at the menu online. Would anyone be able to advise me on the best choices I could make?
I normally do red and green days, and so far it has been neutral.
Here is the link to the Menu -
I am thinking perhaps
Parma ham & melon for RED or
Red or green - Grilled asparagus, poached egg, herb breadcrumbs, (because I have had that before and it is lovely!), to start.
Then for mains, if I go red, either
Lemon & rosemary chicken, aubergine & tomato from the grill,
A steak,
with stem broccoli or a salad on the side.
Or green,
Spaghetti Napoletana (bit boring perhaps!!)
Risotto with Mushrooms, garlic & parsley. Those seem to be the obvious dishes without lots of oil, a creamy sauce or bread based. They are ones that I would certainly pick anyway. Think I'll stay strong and not have a dessert.Thank you for your help,
Bob Cat xx
too late now BobCat, cos you will be back from lunch, but why didn't you have a regular extra easy day then you could've had potatoes with your dinner, or at least had more choice from the menu. If you are still confused about extra easy ask us to clarify it for you, it's basically much simpler to eat (out or at home) on EE! Hope you enjoyed your lunch whatever you had!
I'm off to the pub - 2 big glasses of sparkling water and I shall feel virtuous that (1) I've gone out and socialised and (2) I still have my syns so I can have a glass of NICE red, as opposed to pub red, when I get home :T:jThat's 2 stone 9 lbs gone forever:j
thank you Slimming World!

Oops - a crowd of us away for an overnight stay! Apart from about 70 syns for alcohol alone - would anybody hazard a guess at the syns in the food? Starter was Brie in Filo Pastry (SO synful but SO nice!) Main course was venison on a bed of winter veg (texture resembling a hash brown but delish so probably cooked in oil!) and a plain baked potato - no dessert! Breakfast wasn't too bad - porridge (might have had cream in it!
) scrambled eggs, bacon and 1 slice of toast. I'm usually on extra easy so either the porridge or the toast would have to be synned too!
I suspect I should just write the last 24 hours off and start again - and I have WI tomorrow!
But it was sooooooo good! :drool:A diet is the penalty we pay for exceeding the feed limit!:rotfl:
Joined SW 13/9/10 - wanted to lose 56lb and lost 26lb! Rejoined on 9/1/12 having gained 17lb of my loss!!!
Want to lose 50lb. 50 - 8.5 = 41.5 to go!0 -

Teecee, rather than fret about it, forget about it and get right back on track tomorrow.
Weigh-in this week may look a bit of a disaster, because you will doubtless be carrying extra fluid with the unaccustomed rich food, but if you stick rigidly to plan, I bet a pound to a penny that next week's loss will be brilliantI let my mind wander and it never came back!0 -
