Burnt my mouth when eating at pub

You have to bear in mind that after this incident in which the skin below your lip and your lip itself got burned by the hot liquid (water or garlic butter) that escaped from the mushroom you then went on a foreign holiday.
The hot sun would have made the situation worse - just as if you had scalded your arm on the oven at home, special care would be needed to ensure the burn didn't get in the sun and make it worse.
There really is no compensation issue here, you didn't complain at the time and the injury wouldn't have been of the severity it was if you'd stayed at home.0 -
We blow over the food for our grand-daughter when she eats at our house, so that she does not burn her mouth. But she is 2 years old. If anybody should be sued for compensation probably it's the guardians who did not protect the child from the routine risks of the world.
Good, Post 64 and THINK ABOUT THE CHILDREN
I do not give a monkeys stuffed foot about the fact that the food could actually be HOT.
Reminds me of Beavre sleep overs, John is allergic to this, Burt is afraid of that, and Samanta is a true vegan. 7:00:00 am Oven on, Bacon burning. 7:00:01 Loads of smiling brats waiting for tomato sauce, bread, beans and all. And guess what, it is hot.
later, Precsious Belinda, comes to collect fashion accessory in 4x4, and ask James what he has for breakfast. looks, they can kill!0 -
People like you are the reason McDonald's have to have 'Hot Liquid Inside' written across cups of coffee and microwave meals have to have printed words like 'Caution: Food May be Hot" No S#!T.
Where do you stand? In the very lowest form of human evolution.0 -
Don't worry about Italiastar, they're just trolling through my posts now because I disagreed with him/her in one of their own threads. Another person who can't take responsibility for their own actions.
Dear Neilmcl,
I can assure you that I've got better things to do than "troll" through your posts, just to wind you up! I came across this post when I saw the title. When I started to read it, I saw the same trait from people like you as I saw in my post. If you bothered to read the post, you'd see the following:Hmm very amusing. They were breaded mushrooms and the breaded bit wasn't hot to the touch, only warm. It was also the only mushroom out of the batch that had liquid in it.
It's quiet clear that this was the only mushroom out of a number. This one clearly contained more liquid, hence why it possibly "superheated" - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Superheating
Had it been cooked in hot oil, the heat would have been uniform, however as there were microwaved (the OP confirmed this) there is a possibility that the liquid in this mushroom was significantly hotter than the breaded covering, which would not contain water. Before microwave, this wouldn't have been such a problem, hence why the advice we were told whilst young applies.0 -
I am actually just in the process of suing myself. I made a cup of coffee and didn't warn myself it could be hot before I drunk it.
I made a lot of money out of my last case where I sued myself for the pain and anguish caused from brain freeze after I failed to warn myself that ice cream could be cold.
I'm on a real money spinner here

I'm sorry to point this out, but suing yourself is not very productive - you see, the money you get comes from yourself, so you end up losing out in the end, once you include legal costs - Simples eh!0 -
lucky you pointed that out
saved BLT no end of money......0
