Burnt my mouth when eating at pub

as with many deep fried foods
the daddy of which has to be those McD apple pies
i havent had one in many years but i remember they were just above lava on the heat scale
My father loved McD's apple pies but as he was losing his memory ( and mind) towards the end, we use to have to leave them with the counter staff until cool before letting him attack one with all the gusto he use to reserve for apple pie.
I have complained about cold food in the past but never hot, Garlic mushrooms would have garlic butter ? So that would remain really hot and runny.
not sure that you can claim anything at all to be honest as it was just on of those things.There is a race of men that don't fit in; A race that can't stand still;
So they break the hearts of kith and kin, and roam the world at will.

the garlic mushrooms they are referring to would be paned (flour, egg then breadcrumb)
most likely these would be frozen ones and are more likely to have extra water in them0 -
A restaurant can't win, can it?
They have to prepare hot food so that it is Piping hot when it comes out of the oven, in order to kill any bacteria which be growing in it. If they have a food standards or H&S inspection, and food is found to be plated up having NOT been adequately cooked/reheated, they could get shut down.
So they did that with your mushrooms. Most food starts to cool on the way to the table (as the mushrooms did, hence being cooler on the outside), but the nature of some foods makes them retain the heat in the middle.
I've done a similar thing, digging my fork into the middle of a dish of pasta. It was a reasonable temperature to eat at the edge, but much too hot to eat from the centre. It was my mistake, I'll not do it again.
What happened to you was an ....ACCIDENT... Sometimes, bad things happen, thru nobody's fault, and this event was one of those things.I try not to get too stressed out on the forum. I won't argue, i'll just leave a thread if you don't like what I say.

Thanks you for your responses especially to those who were able to give constructive advice. I understand now that blame lies with me and that I won't write and complain to the pub although I would've felt no embarrassment because I think some of you underestimate how hot the food was. I mean if food is not hot enough to eat you would've complained, so if it's scalding to the point of boiling then I'm not allowed to complain. I've obviously been naive to think that by asking a genuine question for advice would result in receiving just that. I didn't realize I would get such unnecessary responses about how stupid I was/am. But hey ho you live and learn. I'm just not the type of person who ridicules people.
Some people get their little kicks by taking the time and trouble to post to ridicule. It's because they're sad and lonely, hence my sig.
I'd write to the restaurant so they can warn other diners of the potential problem in future.0 -

have you ever eaten anywhere where you were warned your food might be hot?0 -
Breville type toasties with tomatoes inside can be damned hot too. Like previously said, anything with a hefty water content will reach boiling point faster than the denser matter- bread.more dollar$ than sense0
