Saeed: you have to register your adaptor's MAC address with Sipgate in order to use it.
How do I do this?0 -
Saeed - go to https://www.sipgate.co.uk/netgear and enter your sipgate username and password.0

Aldi phones £9.99 with £5 free call time. Identical to Tesco ones. ( I got 3 free ones with Star vouchers. Can use them fine on Skype, Freecall etc.) You also get your own telephone number like the Tesco ones. They work very well in my opinion. Getting mine free was best. Tescos are £14.97 now, though they had reduced them to £9.99 a short time ago, same as Aldi price. On sale Thurs 26th Oct.0

Hiya I had exactly the same problem, it's your Router settings not allowing it thorugh the firewall. Easiest way I found was to setup router as DMZ and forward to netgear voip. Goto Sipgate and register and then the router will go off to sipgate afteer reboot to get it's settings. Once the settings are in place remove DMZ and only forward the porys 5004 and 5083 UDP to the router. Should all be setup and working at this point.

The connections are modem > Netgear VOIP > Computer
I have registered on the sipgate site, and they gave me a number, but there is no dial tone when I pick up the phone which is connected to line 1. When I go into the router (by going to http://192.168.61.1) I get the following:-
LAN Port
MAC Address 00:0F:B5:13:XX:XX (last 4 figures deleted)
Line 1
Display Name UNAVAILABLE
Telephone Number phonenumber
Line 1 Status
Hook State: ON
Registration State: Idle
Message Waiting: NO
I think the above indicates that I am not on Voip. Anyone know if sipgate take a while to set up the VOIP as I registered 3 hrs ago, or should it be up and running and is there something wrong with my connection???0 -

what was the problem with the new one ?
The used item was working fine but I was unable to register it under my account, was registered under someone else'a account, which means I can not use it at all.
The new item was dead no led lights what so ever I checked all connections and it was not powering up..............?
I did return the items this afternoon and got my money back, I am still looking for it.0 -

I am new to VoIP. So far I have gone to sipgate and registered. I have re-booted my modem, VoiP, computer several times. But still not working.
Could you explain step by step what I need to do to set up DMZ (what is DMZ by the way?) and the rest of the steps???0
