I've just had a 4 out of 5 rating from a buyer who bought a book, then realised she had it already and emailed me to cancel the order. I did this straight away and gave her a full refund. The accompanying complaint to the 4 out of 5 'I don't know why I have been asked for feedback because I cancelled the order'. duh!
I followed Amazombie's advice and emailed the buyer who promptly removed the rating and sent an apology. She meant the rating for Amazon as she was irritated at being asked for a rating for an order she'd cancelled.
Good call there Amazombie! :T
My train to work has been cancelled this morning - and the next couple - so I've taken today as a holiday to do all the things I didn't get done over the weekend because it took so long to list my booksI still have a full archive box to list....and all the ones under the table in my bedroom....

Glad it is sorted out - as I have just had my very first Amazon feedback although I've now sold over 20 books - I know how precious they are!

Thanks, I will suggest that to them, although they posted their book quite a while after posting mine, even when mine seemed to have disappeared. And it was a rather large heavy book to post... aaarrrggghhhh!!!!AMAZON SELLERS CLUB member 0024 come and join us :hello: make some space and get hold of some cash, we're on the Ebay and other auctions, Car Boot and Jumble Sales Board0 -

Can you re-use the box packaging you receive books in from Amazon to send your own stuff out?The curve that can set a lot of things straight is a smile0 -
Can someone please tell me how to list a book that is not already for sale? Most probably the answer is staring me in the face...! I would be very grateful for any advise. This is my first week of selling,I have sold 8 books, and received 1 feedback,so far I have listed 161 +(8 sold).I have signed up to the pro merchant account,as I intend to really go for it.I also have many 1000's records to sell,is it possible to see past sales of items? so as to ascertain the best selling price.....
Kind regards Bukup0 -

Hi Hilary
I only use new packaging for my Amazon sales as per their guidelines: http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=3149411 Prepare a professional, clean package. Use new packing material appropriate for the item you're sending....
I keep any recycled packaging for Ebay and Greenmetropolis sales.

BBC New Item says:
The price of a first class stamp is to rise by 2p to 34p from next April, the Royal Mail has announced.
The cost of a second class stamp will also increase, by 1p to 24p. The hikes come after the price of both stamps rose 2p last April.
The cost of larger first class letters of up to 100g will rise 4p to 48p, and bigger second class items by 3p to 40p.
The Royal Mail said the new prices will more closely reflect the "true cost" of its operation.
In August, it introduced a new pricing structure based on the size, weight and thickness of items.
"Stamped mail made a loss of £237m in the 2005-06 financial year, equivalent to 6p on every first and second class stamped letter," said Lorna Clarkson, Royal Mail's director of commercial policy and pricing.
"At the same time, profitable business mail is being targeted by competitors who will handle around 2.5 billion unstamped business items this year."
The price of business post will rise at a lesser rate and discounts will be offered for some services, such as lower weights of franked mail.
Ho hum

Ah well it was inevitable I suppose at some point - sales have dried up ....
Still, I am quite pleased with my first 3 weeks all told and am all fired up for the New Year - so to all you bookworms out there ..
Have a great time!

sorry that no-one got back to you sooner
The quick answer about listing a book that isn't in the system is 'you can't' but pro-merchants can sort of request to have the book included in the database but I've never looked into it so I can't help there.
I'm also afraid that you can't see what things have sold for, you can only see the prices that they are for sale at, which they may, or may not sell for so it's a bit, looking at ebay may give you clues as to what they sell for and then decide which venue you want to sell from
Well done on going Pro, I've not regretted it but it's a hungry horse that you have to keep feeding so pick up books from wherever you see them to keep the sales up0
