  • Help please?

I have a book called Spasticity Rehabilitation - hardcover - edited by G Sheean - great condition - ISBN 1902446003 and I cant find it for sale second hand anywhere.

Not on Amazon and not on bookfinder or greenmetro. Loads of refs if you google it though. Are there any other places I can look? Is one of a pile of medical books I got cheap!

    TIA

    Ann
  • Yes blue I use it, I have been using it since July and it is fantastic, it is probably the best time-saving advice that I could ever give another amazonian, give it a try and see if it suits you - I love it.

Thanks for that - I shall definitely give it a go.

Hello! I haven't posted here before but have been selling a few books on Amazon and GM... only books I already have, none I've bought specially so only about 20 or so books.

This morning I got an email telling me I'd sold a book through GM - first in absolutely ages, most are selling on Amazon. It reminded me that I hadn't updated my GM with my Amazon sellings so I log in and delete the books I've sold (luckily the new one I'd sold wasn't one I'd already sold). Then check my email again - have 2 messages, one from Amazon and another one from GM. I've only gone and sold the exact same book on both sites at exactly the same time!!! How bizarre is that!?! GM have been really good and have cancelled the order, although I didn't tell them why, just that I didn't have it anymore. Oops. :o

So just a warning to those of you or lurkers (like me!) that if you have the same books on both sites, be sure to take them off when you've sold them!! :p

Welcome to the thread Nicxx :)

I had the same thing happen to me earlier this week, I had the book for months on Amazon and it hadn't sold. I sold it on Ebay and Amazon within 15 minutes. Fortunately I was not the cheapest on Amazon so bought it off of one of the other sellers and have got them to send it to one of the buyers - I've made a whole 32p profit :rotfl:

It is a problem though to keep Amazon, GM and Ebay all up to date. I bet I've still got a few on GM that I've sold, I'm pretty sure that Amazon is up to date because I use Amazon to track the location of my books and I've only got a handful on Ebay.

    FFM :)

    Hi - how is everyone?

Sales are still very slow for me - but I only have about 65 books listed, so I probably need to list some more...

Does anyone use the online postage service where you can print off your postage from the royal mail site - complete with neat address etc? A friend who ebays showed me one of her parcels, and it does look professional (I have terrible handwriting so printed addresses are a bonus!!) http://www.royalmail.com/portal/rm/jump3?catId=400043&mediaId=26800663

Good luck with your challenges everyone

Does this then become your proof of posting aswell?

I was going to say that GM do sell through Amazon, so it could be that your sale from GM came via Amazon - then I realised I was being a numpty :o and you wouldn't have had an email from Amazon if GM had sold it on your behalf through them.... (why do I always think this smilie is a weightlifter?? Is it just me???) not sure if I am making any sense, it's been a long day.... I don't think I dare list books on two different sites anymore, I have been lucky so far but am bound to make a mistake sometime soon.

After a quiet December start, I have had 3 sales in the last 24 hours from Amazon, which has put me back on track for my average I was doing in earlier months. Two books were for good prices, I just REALLY need to remember where one of them is....

Hope everyone has good sales this weekend.

  • Just had another Amazon Sale this morning and have swiftly removed it from GM. I know what you mean about being vigilant about listing in two places at once. So far I haven't had any duplicate sales but it's easy to forget. Up to 8 books sold now - 22 to go until the end of December. I'm postive it can done, I'll have a little MOAN now which seems to work on this thread and watch those sales got through the roof.
My mantra is "Never pay full price!" ;)
  • Hi all

I've just had a 4 out of 5 rating from a buyer who bought a book, then realised she had it already and emailed me to cancel the order. I did this straight away and gave her a full refund. The accompanying complaint to the 4 out of 5 'I don't know why I have been asked for feedback because I cancelled the order'. duh!

It was bound to happen at some point, but to lose my newbie 100% 5 out of 5 rating for a buyer who got very good service is irritating.

Anyway, I'm about to settle down and list a load of books - with that and the recognised MOAN technique, things are bound to pick up :rotfl:

To answer Hilary1, I think the online postage service from Royal Mail does provide proof of purchase, but I'm not certain.

Hope everyone has a brilliant Saturday

  • RE the online postage thing.

As far as I can find out from the Post Office, the ONLY way to get proof of posting at the moment is at your local Post Office, as you have to record the house number and postcode at minimum.

I did consider Smartstamp but you have to pay for the privilege, pay full postage on top of that, then use your own labels, and then take them to the PO for proof of posting. I figured that I might as well save the £5 a month if I had to go to the PO anyway, but for those with a tight time constraint it could well be worth the £5.

It's not SmartStamp - I thought that was what my friend meant when she told me about it and wondered how she justified the subscription. This is just printing the postage - the web page section header is 'run out of stamps? don't panic' I don't know who would want to use Smartstamp - unless it's for companies who want their logo printed on the label (seems a bit naff for £5 pm!).

    Hope that helps, Boston.
