I keep checking my email but no sales!:(
Hi Tescodisco, took me about a month before I sold anythingdon't know why but its very exciting when you do. It will happen eventually - what kind of books do you have listed? Are you lowest price and reasonable condition..... It IS painful waitIng for that first sale.
Also worth checking in your closed lisitngs to see if you have sold any in case the emails from Amazon are not coming through as I believe this has happened to some people. If you have a '0' rather than a '1' then the item has been sold.
Good luck hope you get a SDN email soon then you'll be hooked like the rest of us ta da :rotfl:

I have listed most books at minimum price, unless it looks like my copy is in better condition.
I'm totally happy to wait till the right sale comes along, because I feel I've followed the fab advice on this board, so I'm not doing anythign wrong, but it's hard to wait for your first sale. Especially since I know how terrrible I'll be at posting them out unless it's a weekend!
Sorry - my friend persueded me to take tomorrow off work, so it's a cheeky thurday for me and I'm a bit !!!!ed! Sorry if I'm not supposed to swear!
But hurrah for mse and for the amazon and ebay borard. hurrah!0 -

I now have 18 books listed and loving it. Nothing has sold yet, but will do soon, I hope. It is so quick and easy, compared to ebay.

Is it possible to sell items not listed on Amazon???.I have noticed over the past few weeks that more item categories are being listed (items not currently sold as new or not available). Is it possible to add or suggest new items to Amazon
Thanks in advance0 -
You have to be a high volume seller and your item has to have a Unique Product Code (UPC) or EAN (European Article Number) to list in Amazon's catalogue. I've been selling for months and suddenly the option has appeared on my seller's account!
Problem is the item I want to list (iPod remote control speakers) don't have a EAN or UPC so I don't know what to do...Don't blame me, it was like that when I got here!0 -
Have they got a barcode? Try using that.0

I just can't see the logic in it, I just bought a paperback book for £0.01 plus £2.75 delivery.
The book cost £2.38 to send to me, 1st class recorded. I'm sure Amazon take fees off the seller for both listing and card processing, so why do these people bother?
Surely they'd be better just donating the book to a charity shop than making 5-10p "profit" on it, which is negligable after the cost of packaging, etc.0 -
Occasionally it can be worth it if the book is very light. I sold a book that was about 100 pages and cost very little to post. I agree with you that most of the time it does seem silly to sell a book for 5-10p profit, especially when that person presumably has to make the time and effort to get to a post office/post box.0
